Pickaxe Skill: Critical Mining

Deal Critical Damage When Mining

While it is important to choose a Pickaxe with proper stats, you can also speed up the process of mining, or catch up to the power of other Pickaxes via the Critical Mining process, added as of January 18, 2026 following a recent update to The Forge.

Critical Mining lets you target randomly-spawned weakpoints in the rock that you are mining, and hitting it allows you to deal increased damage, allowing you to close the gap between your Pickaxe and better Pickaxes.
