Raise Your Castle to Level 3

In order to get a Listening Orb, you must recruit Badeaux. He will only join if your castle is at Level 3.

Leveling up your castle to Level 3 requires you to recruit at least 62 allies in total and to have either Kiba or Klaus join your army as well.

Recruit Shiro

Suikoden 2 - Recruit Kinnison and Shiro.png

Before seeking Badeaux, recruit Shiro, the wolf companion of Kinnison. Both can be found in the Forest area of Ryube Village.

Find Badeaux

With Shiro in your party, locate Badeaux in the forest near the Greenhill-Muse border. His presence is necessary for recruiting certain creatures.

Receive 2 Listening Orbs

Upon recruiting Badeaux, he will gift you two Listening Orbs, which are essential for communicating with and recruiting specific creatures.

Where to Use Listening Orbs

Recruiting Creatures

Creature Name How to Recruit
Feather Found in Forest Village and enables you to recruit Ayda.
Sigfried Found west of Banner Village.
Abizboah Found in Tinto Mines and enables you to recruit Rulodia and Chuchara.
Rulodia Found in Tinto Mines after recruiting Abizboah, she joins alongside Chuchara.

They are not part of the Stars of Destiny.

Each Listening Orb allows you to recruit one of the following creatures. Since you receive two, you must choose wisely.

Moreover, If you want all 108 Stars of Destiny, you must recruit Feather to unlock Ayda, but if you prefer unique creatures, Abizboah lets you recruit his family, Rulodia & Chuchara, while Sigfried is a great choice if you prefer a unicorn.
