Hooktail is a boss you can fight in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (TTYD). Read on to learn more about this boss, its stats, and how to beat it!
List of Contents
By equipping the Attack FX G badge, you can lower Hooktail's attack power and defense by one making the battle with the dragon easier. Additionally, if you attack four times, Hooktail's attack power will be reduced to one.
If you use the Power Bounce together with the Action Command successfully, you can reduce Hooktail's attack power to one in one turn.
Power Bounce Timing and Effects
When Hooktail's HP is depleted, the dragon will ask you a question with two choices. If you answer “For 10,000 coins? Sure”, your will take 5 damage even if Hooktail's stats has been lowered.
If you answer “Keep your coins, fiend!”, the battle will resume and Hooktail will recover by 10 HP.
Whichever answer you choose to Hooktail's request, the dragon will recover 10 HP and the battle will resume. Hooktail's decreased stats will still carry over when the battle resumes.
