A large mammal of the class Saeptvus. They are social, hunting in very large packs. They have also been, called "breathing lions" for their recognizable sound and large mouths. They are endurance hunters and attempt to make up for their lack of sight with their sense of hearing. It is a popular myth that they often mistake the sounds of their own kind for prey, entering fights within their own packs. Their behaviour is unique from other pack animals in their tendency to spread out far to cover distance. When an eyeless dog has found prey, it roars to alert others in the near vicinity, who will also sound the alarm, sometimes resulting in a kind of chain reaction. Eyeless dogs can be dangerous in swarms. However, they are characteristically clumsy, taking guesses at the exact location of their prey which are often incorrect. |
The Eyeless Dog is a monster that can spawn Outdoors. Do note that the Eyeless Dog can be encountered in all of the moons that can be explored in Lethal Company.
The Eyeless Dog can be killed with a shovel in 12 Hits. While the Eyeless Dog is killable, its attack is an instant kill. With this, beginners should avoid them if possible!
As Eyeless Dogs get alerted by sound, be careful of the following:
Be mindful of these common in-game actions and consider leaving noisy scrap behind if Eyeless Dogs are present.
There are items that make a lot of noise, making them useful to lure an Eyeless Dog away:
A Radar Booster, the Loud Horn Ship Upgrade, and Item Store Rockets are effective and reusable lures against Eyeless Dogs, but require coordination with another player on the Terminal.
You can also climb highly elevated areas such as the top of the ship or boulders to wait for Eyeless Dogs to calm down.
If doing this, take caution against other threats such as Forest Keepers, and Lightning strikes.
However, if an encounter is inevitable, it is possible to dodge an Eyeless Dog's charge by sidestepping. Make sure to have enough stamina.
Ship Furniture such as the File Cabinet can no longer stop an Eyeless Dog's charge.
If an Eyeless Dog is charging near the ship, consider closing the ship's doors, or climbing up the ship.
Eyeless dogs are blind and rely on their hearing. Avoid encounters with Eyeless Dogs by cutting noise, crouching, and staying away from them.
When alerted by noise or close contact, Eyeless Dogs will charge at a location, killing players in one hit if caught.
Eyeless dogs patrol the majority of the terrain they are on and can walk on stairs and inclined terrain.
Fortunately, Eyeless Dogs cannot use ladders. You can use ladders to escape to higher-elevated areas.
This monster does not drop any items. |
