Unique to Chasca is that her kit works in diverse elemental teams as she infuses her bullets with Pyro, Hydro, Cryo, or Electro based on your party composition, effectively making her the first multi-element carry, and can trigger all reactions related to the aforementioned elements at once.
While this makes her look versatile in team-building on paper, her overall performance is heavily reliant on the teammates you choose much more than other characters, often needing synergistic off-field characters that can also satisfy the conditions of her passive, which means she loses out on her ability to slot-in characters like Xilonen, Kazuha, or Zhongli, which ironically makes her restrictive to get her best performance.
Functionally she is better suited as a single-target boss killer. This is due to the fact that her six bullets split when she locks onto multiple enemies, and each of them only attack one enemy. Thus, her damage is primarily single-target, which is great against bosses but worse in AoE situations. Due to her bullets loading in randomly, any intended sequences of reactions you may want from your team comp may get disrupted as well.
For those who are looking to invest her vertically, C2 and C6 are absurd damage amplifiers to her overall damage, which makes her beyond powerful than her current state at C0. Exploration especially within Natlan is also worth it for those looking for characters who provide aerial traversal, which Chasca is the best at.

Chasca Ascension and Talent Materials
Strengths | |||
---|---|---|---|
• Is capable of triggering any Elemental Reaction that the team can do on her own. • Chasca can function in almost all teams that are based on Pyro, Hydro, Electro, and Cryo. • Elemental Skill lifts her into the air, offering Chasca a way to avoid most forms of melee damage. • Variety in damage allows her to use an ATK Goblet, which makes building her easier. • Exploration ability lets Chasca traverse most vertical areas in the game as she can fly over them. |
|||
Weaknesses | |||
• Any delays in locking onto opponents can result in a DPS loss, especially outside Natlan where her Nightsoul Points are limited. • Requires interruption resistance from a shielder as she can get knocked out of the sky. • Reliance on Elemental Reaction teammates prevents her access from Zhongli as a shielder unit and Faruzan as a buffer unless she is C2. • Due to the buffs and priority of Elemental DMG, Chasca's own Anemo DMG is sub-par when compared to another Anemo DPS unit. |
Chasca's main mechanic is her Elemental Skill that shoots out elemental bullets, which deal the corresponding element's damage, making Chasca's build more versatile especially when it comes to Sands and Goblet choices.
While CRIT is her main focus, Chasca's Sands can either be ATK or EM depending on what you need, whereas her Goblet can be either ATK, EM, or whichever Elemental DMG is dominant on your team.

As an Anemo DPS, Chasca takes advantage of using other elements to buff her DMG. Using a 4-pc. set of the Obsidian Codex is a good way to buff her overall DMG even more.
This will often be Chasca's go-to build by virtue of being a Natlan character who can make use of Obsidian Codex's Nightsoul's Blessing requirement.

Since Chasca's Elemental Skill provides Swirl, you can also build her with a 4-pc. Viridescent Venerer set to further increase her Anemo DMG and reduce your opponent's Elemental RES.
With this, Chasca can opt to mix and match her Sands and Goblet to invest into ATK% as a general option, or stacking Elemental Mastery to lean more towards being an Anemo Driver.

Elemental Skill | Elemental Burst | Normal Attack |
Most of Chasca's damage comes from the elemental bullets discharged from her gun during her Elemental Skill, which makes this the highest priority to level up.
Next up is her Elemental Burst, which should be leveled as much as possible as it also contributes a major improvement to her damage. Her Normal Attacks can be saved for last as her damage does not scale on it.
4-pc. Obsidian Codex was made for Natlan characters like Chasca because of the 40% CRIT Rate increase which will virtually always be active, followed by Shimenawa's Reminiscence if you are still farming for 4-pc Codex.
If running her as a Swirl DPS, then you may opt to use 4-pc. Viridescent Venerer as it still retains its title as the premier Artifact Set for Swirl units.
Artifact | Artifact Bonuses | |

1st | Obsidian Codex |
2-PC: While the equipping character is in Nightsoul's Blessing and is on the field, their DMG dealt is increased by 15%. 4-PC: After the equipping character consumes 1 Nightsoul point while on the field, CRIT Rate increases by 40% for 6s. This effect can trigger once every second. |

List of Artifacts and Set Bonuses
Chasca's best option is likely to be her Signature weapon, Astral Vulture's Crimson Plumage. You can also choose other alternative weapons that give ATK and Elemental DMG like Aqua Simulacra or The First Great Magic.
As for her Swirl DPS options, you can opt to make use of her Signature weapon for personal damage, or weapons like Hunter's Path and Elegy for the End for their synergy to Elemental Mastery-focused builds.

Due to Chasca's Elemental Skill converting up to four of her bullets into one of four elements based on her teammates, running her in a Rainbow team is best to take advantage of her skill.
Even if her allies do not use their Elemental Skills and Burst, Chasca is still able to take advantage of these elements with her Shadowhunt Shells, and can even opt to shift her build towards a certain element.

Chasca | Furina | Shenhe | Bennett |
Chasca | Ororon | Dehya | Kokomi |
These teams consist of Chasca mixed with exactly three other elements to give her Elemental Skill the most amount of differing bullets, allowing Chasca to trigger as many Elemental Reactions as possible.
This build sees more value if Chasca is on-field as the Anemo Driver for these reactions, as this allows her to create more instances of different reactions as she swirls them.

Due to Chasca's Elemental Conversion mechanic converting up to four of her bullets, she can be ran with the premier support of each element, along with using the corresponding element's DMG Bonus Goblet.
This allows four of her six shots to always be a single element, and for the last two shots to swirl that element around.

Chasca can also make use of the Vaporize reaction with her Elemental Conversion, which helps trigger both ends of Vaporize as well as Swirl it around.
This also has the added benefit of giving Chasca access to either Furina, Bennett, or even Xilonen if Chasca uses a Pyro DMG Bonus Goblet, which helps in ensuring that her own personal damage is still respectable.

With Chasca's Elemental Conversion, she can facilitate the Electro-Charged reaction together with Ororon and other Electro and Hydro units as her bullets will be able to swirl and trigger the reaction.
This will likely be great in scenarios where there are multiple opponents that need to be shot evenly, and having Chasca's bullets hit all opponents ensures that there are multiple sources of Electro-Charge.

Chasca can also slot into Overload teams as her bullets can lock onto targets and trigger Overload with almost every hit when paired with allies with high Elemental application.
This is especially good with Chasca as the main DPS with her Elemental Skill's lock-on mechanic, which counters the innate possibility of Overload units accidentally splitting up their opponents in a fight.

C2 |
Muzzle, the Searing Smoke When Chasca takes the field, she will obtain 1 stack of "Spirit of the Radiant Shadow" from the Passive Talent "Bullet Trick." You must first unlock the Passive Talent "Bullet Trick" for this effect. In addition, when the Shining Shadowhunt Shells from Spirit Reins, Shadow Hunt's Multitarget Fire hit opponents, they will deal AoE Elemental DMG of the corresponding Elemental Type of the Shining Shadowhunt Shells equal to 400% of Chasca's ATK. This DMG is considered Charged Attack DMG. This effect can be triggered once each time Chasca uses Multitarget Fire. |

• Guarantees a Shining Shadowhunt Shell, meaning 1 out of the 6 bullets she fires will always hit hard. • Spiritbinding Conversion chance increased, essentially giving her a Shining Shadowhunt Shell with only 2 elements. • Quality-of-Life buff to exploration by decreasing Nightsoul Point and Phlogiston consumption out of combat. |
C2 | ★★★ |
• Gives all of her shots a 15% DMG increase from her passive upon taking the field. This also lets Chasca run a two-element team as the first DMG increase from Bullet Trick will always be active. • Elemental Bullets gain a second instance of AoE damage that scales with 400% of Chasca's ATK. |
C4 | ★★☆ |
• Elemental Burst restores 1.5 elemental energy to Chasca from each bullet on impact. • One of Chasca's bullets from her Elemental Burst will deal a second instance of AoE damage that scales with 400% of Chasca's ATK. |
Chasca's ability to fire AoE Elemental Bullets in her C2 gives it immense value, as well as guaranteeing the first 15% damage increase and letting Chasca run with one less element on the team.
These AoE bullets also scale with 400% of her ATK, essentially doubling her DPS with all her Elemental bullets.

Performs up to 4 consecutive shots with a bow.
Charge Attack Performs a more precise Aimed Shot with increased DMG. While aiming, mighty winds will accumulate on the arrowhead. A fully charged arrow will deal Anemo DMG. Plunge Attack: Fires off a shower of arrows in mid-air before falling and striking the ground, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact. |
As a Bow user, Chasca is able to utilize the standard Bow attacks and the standard Charged Attacks of the bow to let out either Physical or Anemo bolts.
Since she fires Anemo arrows, this can already trigger Swirl and allow her to influence a fight even without the rest of her abilities.
Spirit Reins, Shadow Hunt |
---|
After using her Elemental Skill, Chasca will immediately deal Nightsoul-aligned AoE Anemo DMG to nearby opponents, and mount “Soulsniper: Ritual Staff” to enter the Nightsoul's Blessing state.
When Chasca is in the Nightsoul's Blessing state, tap the Normal Attack button to deal Nightsoul-aligned Anemo DMG. This DMG is considered Normal Attack DMG. When Chasca is in the Nightsoul's Blessing state, hold the Normal Attack button to enter aiming mode and load up to 6 “Shadowhunt Shells.” When 6 Shells have been loaded or charging is stopped, these Shells will be fired at the chosen opponents in sequence. This DMG is considered Charged Attack DMG. |
When casting her Elemental Skill, Shadowhunt Shells, Chasca enters the Nightsoul's Blessing state and summons a large flying gun that she mounts and can control.
This is both Chasca's main method of combat and exploration, as it consumes her Nightsoul Points on usage, and subsequently Phlogiston if it is available.
When doing a Normal Attack while in Nightsoul's Blessing, Chasca fires the weapon at nearby enemies in front of her.
It seems like this will be used to finish off fodder opponents quickly, or burst down targets that do not require Chasca to use more than one attack.
Holding down Chasca's Charged Attack in Nightsoul's Blessing allows her to lock onto a number of enemy targets while the bullets in her gun fill up, up to a maximum of 6 shots.
Upon releasing, all Charged Shots will fire onto the locked-on targets, dealing a large Burst of Anemo damage.
As her main exploration tool, Chasca can control this Weapon similar to the Qucusaur Saurian, letting her fly across great distances in the air.
Similar to the Natlan exploration abilities, this will use up Nightsoul Points and then Phlogiston in order to maintain the uptime of the Flying Weapon.
When there are one or more party members that are either Pyro, Hydro, Electro, or Cryo, up to four of Chasca's bullets will undergo Elemental Conversion based on the Elements present in her party.
This lets Chasca use and swirl elements even if the members in her party have not applied their respective elements on-field.
Soul Reaper's Fatal Round |
---|
Chasca's Elemental Burst fires a "Galesplitting Soulseeker Shell" that deals Nightsoul-aligned AoE Anemo Damage to enemies. The single Shell will then split into 6 "Soulseeker Shells", attacking nearby enemies.
"Soulseeker Shells" will undergo Elemental Conversion based on the Elemental Types of your party members, dealing Nightsoul-aligned DMG of the corresponding Elemental Type. |
Chasca's Soulseeker Shells lets her lock onto an opponent before releasing an Anemo blast from her rifle, which targets and follows the opponent she chooses.
The Soulseeker Shell deals damage on impact and splits into 6 shots similar to her Elemental Skill, then strikes nearby targets again, making this an effective tool when wanting to take out high-priority targets or groups of enemies.
Bullet Trick |
---|
When the Elemental Skill Spirit Reins, Shadow Hunt's Multitarget Fire is being charged, if there are party members who meet the Elemental Conversion Type requirements, the following effects will be gained, based on the number of different eligible Elemental Types present: |
This passive makes it so that if there are exactly three allies that convert Chasca's bullets to another Elemental Type, then a guaranteed 4th bullet is also converted. Otherwise, it gives one of Chasca's bullets the chance to be converted.
It also gives these bullets a DMG buff of up to 65%, allowing Chasca to fire off more powerful shots scaling with the number of converted bullets up to a limit of three.
Intent to Cover |
---|
When a nearby party member triggers a Nightsoul Burst, Chasca will fire a "Burning Shadowhunt Shot" at a nearby opponent, dealing Nightsoul-aligned Anemo DMG equal to 150% of the Shadowhunt Shell DMG from her Elemental Skill Spirit Reins, Shadow Hunt. If the party has Pyro, Hydro, Cryo, or Electro characters, the Burning Shadowhunt Shot will be converted to deal Nightsoul-aligned Elemental DMG of the corresponding Elemental Type equal to 150% of the DMG dealt by Spirit Reins, Shadow Hunt's Shining Shadowhunt Shells. DMG dealt in this way is considered Charged Attack DMG. |
Night Realm's Gift: Everburning Heart |
---|
After her Nightsoul points are fully depleted, Chasca will switch to consuming Phlogiston to maintain her Nightsoul's Blessing. While in an area with Phlogiston Mechanics within Natlan, she can use Nightsoul Transmission: Chasca. When the active character is in the air, the following will occur when switching to Chasca: Chasca will enter the Nightsoul's Blessing state and gain 32 Nightsoul points. Nightsoul Transmission can be triggered once every 10s by your party. |
Mediation's True Meaning |
---|
25 Phlogiston will be restored when your own party members defeat an opponent. This effect can trigger once every 12s. This Talent does not take effect in Domains, Trounce Domains, or the Spiral Abyss. |
One of Chasca's passives allow her to restore a small amount of Phlogiston every time she defeats an enemy in combat.
While it is only effective within Natlan, it still gives Chasca and her team a way to refill Phlogiston during fights, giving her more uptime in her Nightsoul's Blessing state without having to stop.

Kachina | She's a famous ''peacemaker'' in Natlan! They say she can resolve any conflict, no sweat. I guess that she probably does it because like me, she's really not a fan of people getting into fights with each other... |
Kinich | I've seen how she handles her work. Our methods of conflict-resolution are quite different. I tend to get one party to shut up, but she silences both. By the time they wake up in their sick beds, they have nothing further to say, because they've forgotten whatever it was they were fighting about. |
Mualani | I met Chasca when I was little. We even fought over toys a few times... I was pretty surprised when I heard she became a Peacekeeper. They say some people mature really slowly, while others grow up in an instant. Sometimes, I wonder if I've even started... |
Xilonen |
To get Chasca's gun up and running in high altitude was no easy task. First, I had to make sure it would remain stable and reliable in high speed combat. Then, I had to develop standard and special ammunition that could be used for combat at high altitudes. And finally, I had to consider how to solve the issues of recoil and accuracy while flying... But Chasca told me the last two issues were no big deal, and that she'd be able to manage as long as I installed some basic mechanical crosshairs. Chasca has definitely proven to be an expert user of that weapon. Goes to show that she really is a flying ace of the Flower-Feather Clan. |
