This is a guide on how to make the best armored party in Fire Emblem Heroes (FEH). To know the pros and cons of making an all-armored party and which armored units are the best to use, read on!
List of Contents
Armored units have high Def or Res (or both!) and can tank hits from enemy units.
In turn, they can retaliate with a strong counterattack and potentially one shot whichever for initiated the attack.
Several armored units also have high BST and come with premium skills to score well in the Arena.
Having merged and well-built armored units could reach the higher tiers.
Armored units take 1.5x damage from armor-effective weapons like Armorslayer+ or Hammer+.
This can be neutralized with a skill like Svalinn Shield or Brave Hector's weapon refine.
Armored units can typically only move 1 space at a time. This can be remedied by using the Armored Boots Sacred Seal, or skills like Armor March 3 or Raging Storm.
When organizing a party, it's important to have units of different colors.
This ensures your party can defeat different types of enemy units of different attributes.
As previously stated, like Armor March 3 or Raging Storm give armored units mobility.
You can also give one of your units the Armored Boots Sacred Seal so they don't have to rely on Armor March.

This is an example all-armored party. All units here can counterattack regardless of range and are highly durable due to their stats and their skills.
Having an armored unit per color assures they can tackle a wide variety of units, with Zelgius providing mobility by having Armor March on his C skill.
Because armored units can only move one space, inheriting Distant Counter will ensure that they can counterattack ranged units.
For ranged armored units, you can give them Close Counter to have the same effect.
Since mobility is limited, positional assist skills like Swap and Pivot will help you reposition your units.
You can use other positional assists, but these two are the ones often used because they can be utilized well by armored units.
There are several skills that armored units can use to buff either themselves and their allies, make themselves tougher to defeat, or even straight up save each other from damage.
Neutralizes "effective against armored" bonuses. |
If unit's HP ≥ 50%, unit and foe cannot make a follow-up attack. |
Grants Def/Res+4 to armored allies within 2 spaces during combat. |
If unit’s HP ≥ 50% and foe initiates combat, unit makes a guaranteed follow-up attack. Grants Special cooldown charge +1 per attack. (Does not stack. ) |
At start of turn, grants Atk/Spd+6 to adjacent armored allies for 1 turn. |
At start of turn, grants Def/Res+6 to adjacent armored allies for 1 turn. |
If unit initiates combat, neutralizes effects that prevent unit's follow-up attacks during combat. If unit's HP ≤ 80% and unit initiates combat, unit can make a follow-up attack before foe can counterattack. |

If a foe uses sword, lance, axe, breath, or beast damage & initiates combat against an ally with 2 spaces of unit, triggers【Savior】on unit. If Savior triggers, grants Atk/Def+4 during combat. 【Savior】 Unit takes ally’s space, enters combat in ally’s place, and receives all after-combat effects. Doesn't trigger if ally is on terrain that unit can't move to or if multiple units are able to use Savior during the same combat. If Savior triggers, after-combat movement effects don't occur. |
If unit's HP ≥ 25% and foe initiates combat, neutralizes penalties on unit during combat and unit makes a guaranteed follow-up attack. |
At start of combat, if unit’s HP ≥ 50%, grants Special cooldown charge +1 to unit and inflicts Special cooldown charge -1 on foe per attack. (Only highest value applied. Does not stack. ) |
If unit's HP ≥ 25% and foe initiates combat, unit makes a guaranteed follow-up attack and inflicts Special cooldown charge -1 on foe per attack. (Only highest value applied. Does not stack.) |

These skills synergize very well in an all-armored party, as they increase their overall durability, firepower, or both.
