How to Unlock Tatara Tales

Complete the Prerequisite Quest

Unlock Tatara Tales by completing the third subquest of the Chapter 2: Act 1, Ritou Escape Plan! This quest is also the same unlock requirement to start the whole Quest Chain!

Go to Kannazuka

Tatara Tales is located at Kannazuka, at the Kujou Encampment in the nation of Inazuma. Look for Miyuki and Toranosuke, and talk to them to trigger the quest!

Tatara Tales Walkthrough

Ask the two about the situation

Teleport to the waypoint in the middle of the Kujou Encampment and approach Miyuki and Toranosuke. After hearing their discussion about the situation in Mikage Furnace, look for Xavier.

Observe the Mikage Furnace

After talking to Xavier about the abnormal readings in the Mikage Furnace, close the barrier rifts scattered all around. You will find Fatui enemies guarding one of them, so prepare for a fight!

How to Close the Rifts in Mikage Furnace

	Objectives
1	To investigate Barrier Rift 1, defeat the Fatui in the quest marker location. This marker is located north of the Furnace.
2	To investigate Barrier Rift 2, follow the Electro Seelie to its court, located northeast of MIkage Furnace. You can do this by summoning an Electrogranum and using the Thunder Sphere to boost you up.
3	To investigate Barrier Rift 3, summon an Electrogranum with the Sakura Bough east of the quest marker. Use the Electrogranum to enter the Thunder Barrier!

Report back to Xavier

After destroying the three rfits, report back to Xavier and obtain access to the Kamujima Cannon from him. This mechanism lets you destroy the three barriers, marked in the map from Xavier.

Activate the Kamujima Cannons

Activate the Kamujima Cannons, and fire at the marked points to gradually deplete the barrier surrounding the Furnace to allow passage.

How to Activate the Cannons and Destroy the Rifts

	Objectives
1	For Cannon 1, summon the Electrogranum at the base of the cliff. Activate the cannon and adjust it 2 times to the right, then 2 times upward before firing.
2	Teleport to Cannon 2 and summon the Electrogranum near the cannon. Activate the cannon and adjust it 3 times to the left, then 2 times upward before firing.
3	Teleport to Cannon 3 and summon the Electrogranum near the cannon. Activate the cannon and adjust it 2 times to the right, then 2 times upward before firing.

Report Back to Xavier

Afterwards, report back to Xavier. While discussing about the Furnace, the Fatui abruptly cuts your conversation. Defeat the attacking Fatui, and get close to the Mikage Furnace's core.

Take a picture of the Storage Device

Once you've taken a good look at the Furnace, take a picture of the Storage Device and report back to Xavier after. He then notes that it's in a much better condition than expected, and advices to you to wait so he can prepare better.
