When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.

+Atk/-Spd

Mustafa's best IVs are +Atk and -Spd. Mustafa relies purely on Atk for his offense as his Spd is quite low. Taking a +Atk IV means maximizing his offense. His Spd is of less importance and as mentioned, it is low so it is safe to take it as Mustafa's bane.

+Atk for a +10 Merge

We recommend a +Atk IV when merging Mustafa to 10. With +10 merges, Mustafa can deal a lot of damage in one blow. His high Atk combined with Bonfire can take out a lot of enemies.

How to Use, Explanation

This is a very high investment build for Mustafa. It is also the build that we recommend you run if you plan to play him in the Arena. With this build, and with heavy support, he can dish out and take in damage in both phases of battle! Huge Fan+ shouldn't be hard to get as it is available from the free Groom Hinata. That weapon is very important as it greatly helps in activating Aether.

How to Use, Explanation

This is a player phase set-up for Mustafa if you want to play him differently. He will still be a bit bulky, especially on the physical side. The B slot is flexible, but Axebreaker 3 can turn stalements with axe units into a landslide victory. You can go for a Lull Atk/Def 3 here instead.

How to Use, Explanation

Mustafa's base kit allows him to decently tank both physical and magical damage. His Def might be higher than Res, but thanks to Barrier Axe+, he gets a Res boost if magic foes initiate on him. By adding a sustain skill like Renewal 3, you improve his survivability better. Quick Riposte 3 in the S slot increases the damage he can deal in the enemy phase. You can also go for QR3 in the B slot then take Renewal or Mystic Boost 3 in the Sacred Seal slot.

Mustafa is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.

Mustafa Strengths

Res Buff When Attacked

Barrier Axe+ grants +7 Res to Mustafa when he is attacked. This makes him a great matchup for tome or dragonstone users!

Res Buff if HP is Higher Than Foe's

Water Boost 3 grants +6 Res to Mustafa if his HP ≥ foe’s HP+3. Combined with Barrier Axe+, Mustafa gains +13 Res in some situations. This makes him good at baiting magic units in the enemy phase.

Wide Range Buff

Def Tactic 3 grants +6 Def to allies within 2 spaces if the number of the ally's movement type in the team is ≤ 2. This makes Mustafa a good unit in mixed teams.
