◯ = Stat gains +4 with a superboon, ✕= Stat goes down by -4 with a superbane, - = No assets or flaws

When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
Henry's best IVs are +Atk and -Spd. Henry needs a boost in Atk as it is very low. His special effect refine relies on him having low Atk, but with today's powercreep, a +Atk IV would not hurt his ability to activate this effect by much. His Spd is unreliable and it is not of importance to him so it is safe to take as a bane.
We recommend a +Atk IV when merging Henry to 10. This is for the same reasons as above. Again, this would not hurt his chances to activate Corvus Tome's effect.
If you prefer a tankier Henry, you can go for a +Res IV instead as to balance his Res with his Def.

Henry, as an older generation unit will find it easier to thrive is he is to stick to a specific niche. One of the specific niches his prf. weapon guides him to is a bow unit and colorless unit check. Taking Triangle Adept 3 works with, and stacks with Corvus Tome allowing Henry to not only cover green units, but colorless units as well. Taking Bowbreaker 3 will make sure he wins most battles with colorlesss bows. Time's Pulse 3 eases Bonfire activations. His Seal slot is flexible, but taking Distant Def 3 makes him even deadlier to bows and green tome users.

Since Henry has good defensive stats, he can be built to lure out cav units, and take them out. Of course with this build, Close Counter is a must. Quick Ripose 3 improves his damage when baiting, Threaten Def 3 kicks in if he doesn't finish them in one battle sequence, and Distant Def 3 is taken to improve his defenses against magic cavs for a little bit of balance. If you prefer building him as a pure anti-melee cav, move QR3 in the Seal slot and get Swordbreaker 3 in the B slot instead.
Exclusive Weapon Effect from Refining (Special Effect Type) | |
---|---|
SP: 400 | |
Might: 14 Range: 2 HP: Grants weapon-triangle advantage against colorless foes, and inflicts weapon-triangle disadvantage on colorless foes during combat. At start of combat, if foe's Atk ≥ unit's Atk+3, inflicts Atk/Res-6 on foe during combat and Special cooldown charge -1 on foe per attack. (Only highest value applied. Does not stack.) :500 :200 |

The special effect refine of Corvus Tome leverages Henry's very low Atk stat. As his Atk stat is abysmally low, this effect will be online most of the time. It allows him to take even more damage especially from physical opponents. The special attack delay also leads to less damage output from the enemy in the long run.
If an opponent's Atk stat is low enough to keep Corvus Tome's effect from activating, then you need not to worry as the Atk will not be powerful to begin with.

Note: Stats bonuses from skills are not taken into account.
Henry is a ranged magic attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Res stat.
Henry's Rauðrraven+ allows him to have an attribute advantage versus colorless foes. This is great as some very powerful foes possess the colorless attribute. If you inherit Triangle Adept 3 onto him, Henry will be a very tanky and annoying adversary to both green and colorless foes.
Henry has access to G Tomebreaker 3, which guarantees follow-up attacks against green tome users and prevents them from executing follow-up attacks if Henry's HP is equal or more than 50%. His weapon,Corvus Tome, provides him a weapon advantage over colorless tome users. Because of these skills, he can be a good counter to powerful green tomes like Fallen Lyon or coloress powerhouses like Pirate Tibarn.
Henry has very low Atk power. Even against green or colorless foes whom he has triangle-advantage over, he will have a hard time one-shotting some of them without a proper set-up. You can either patch this up or strategically treat him as a wall against physical units and green tome users.
The only reason why Henry can tank green tomes is because of his G Tomebreaker 3. His Res is very low compared to his excellent physical buff. Therefore, he should stay clear of magical units especially powerful blue attribute ones such as Reinhardt and Ophelia.
Legendary Azura | New Year Alfonse | Valentine's Lilina | Surtr |
Legendary Celica | Mamori | Eir | Veronica |
Henry has very low Atk status. This means that he will greatly appreciate allies that allow him to deal more damage. Some good examples are Legendary Azura who can provide him with both buffs and refreshes and Brave Veronica who can heal him and inflict debuffs on enemies.
Henry is rather helpless against blue units because of the nature of his kit and possible builds surrounding it. It would be best for Henry to have an ally who can take down blue units for him so he can safely focus on the other units.
Celica | Idunn | Fjorm | Nowi |
Ophelia | Reinhardt | Legendary Tiki (Young) | Fallen Tiki (Young) |
Despite Henry's huge physical bulk, he can't afford to be in the danger zone in the enemy phase when powerful blue magical units are present. Always be mindful of Henry's positioning in relation to the enemies who pose a threat to him in the enemy phase regardless if he can counterattack or not.

Oh! Planning on sending me out to kill some more, {Summoner}? Nya ha! That’s great! Who’s my target? A Hero? Emblian soldier? Oh! Could it be someone in the Order of Heroes? Huh? Allies don’t kill each other? Who told you THAT? Eh, if you say so, I guess… Then again, I like this place, and I wouldn’t want anyone to die. You won’t die, will you, {Summoner}? If you died, I’d have to invent a horrible new hex for whoever killed you. So just...stay alive, OK? |
