Switching characters in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero lets you swap between characters in your team mid-battle. Here’s how to switch characters and a few related tips.

How to Switch Characters

Switch (Hold) + , , , or Each face button corresponds to a different teammate. Can also be used as a Follow Up Attack.

Wait for the Switch Icon to Light Up

The Switch Icon only shows when you're playing with a team of characters and will light up when you’re able to switch characters. This usually is on cooldown at the start of a match or after switching characters.

Hold the Switch Button and Choose a Teammate to Switch With

To switch, hold the Switch Button, then press the face button linked to your chosen teammate. Switching characters leaves the Switch system on cooldown for a time, disabling you from swapping characters.

Fused Characters Cannot be Switched to

Note that characters who have fused with another cannot be swapped with since they combine into a single fighter. For example, once transforming into Gogeta, you won't be able to switch into Goku or Vegeta anymore.

You Can Switch as a Follow Up Attack

After sending a foe flying through Grabs or other mechanics, swtiching can serve as a Follow-Up Attack, allowing the incoming teammate to extend combos and maintain offensive pressure.
