Each dungeon contains a final boss called a Nightmare that you must defeat to progress in The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Remake) for the Nintendo Switch. See where each boss is found, as well as tips for beating them!
List of Contents
Nightmares are the bosses of Link's Awakening. They are always found at the very end of a dungeon, and must be defeated in order to progress through the game (with the exception of Hardhit Beetle, who is in an optional dungeon). Defeating the first 8 Nightmares will earn you both a Heart Container and one of the Instruments of the Sirens needed to wake the Wind Fish.
Enemy | Location(s) | How to Beat |
---|---|---|
Moldorm | Tail Cave | Only drop down your shield when you are about to attack. Raising your shield will make you invulnerable to his attacks. |
Genie | Bottle Grotto | Keep your distance to dodge his projectile attacks easier. Charge your sword slash and hit him as soon as the big fireball disappears. |
Slime Eye | Key Cavern | Hit his eye to try and split it into two with your Pegasus Boots once they are far enough from each other. After splitting them, try focusing on killing one of them before changing your target. |
Hardhit Beetle | Color Dungeon | Defeat him quickly, as attacking him slowly will allow him to regenerate his health. |
Angler Fish | Angler's Tunnel | Kill off the summoned fish to create more space for you to move around. Aim for the ball of light. |
Slime Eel | Catfish's Maw | As soon as he shows his head, hit him with the Hookshot and pull him. His weakpoint will be attackable at this point. |
Facade | Face Shrine | Drop the Bomb as soon as he spawns. Do not stay on one place, constantly move around the area and move away from your bomb to prevent it from falling. |
Evil Eagle | Eagle's Tower | If the wind is pushing you off the ledge, use your dash to run to the center of the platform with your shield. |
Hot Head | Turtle Rock | Aim properly with your Magic Rod and predict his movements as he ricochets around the room. |
Dethl | Wind Fish's Egg | Prioritize jumping over rather than damage. Dethl blinks very slow making him vulnerable for a long time. |
