Nope, he's good but not a must like Xilonen, but if you want to play some hex characters yes he's a must
Durin will probably be a must have for the new Hexerie teams, but not a universal support like Xilonen. So how useful he is depends on if you plan to make a Hexerie team. Of course if you wait a week for his release (Dec 3rd) you can have much more trustworthy information than my guesses.
