Same guy. Hojo attempts to reveal Cloud's origin to the team but was stopped by the keepers. Soldiers appear when aerith and cloud meets up the first time but the soldiers were stopped. Keepers disappear and cloud and seph fights AC style.
And if the keepers are permanently gone then there's a huge chance the game will differ greatly from the original now from part 2 onwards. And I am afraid that this can be a bad thing. Please dont fuck it up square.
It feels like its going to be a separate world from the original. For time travel fans, its like the theory of the world line except that restriction got undone by the end of the game allowing this universe to alter their fate freely.
Tl;dr something tries to keep the storyline the same. That thing gets removed and the world now goes its own way. Aerith might survive, the events after leaving midgar will change, and a lot more possibilities. And again, this can be good or bad.
Now if they'll just call it FF7 alternate, and not a remake then it would all be good.
What im afraid of is the newcomers who might think these major asspulls are also in the original. The remake is supposed to be for newplayers to re-experience the old classic but here thay are fucking up the story.
Can we just call the game kingdom hearts 4?
For those new players. Hojo doesnt reveal clouds story until the near end of the game.
You bust your ass out of midgar, no seph fights, no barret stabs. No madam M, no leslie kyle, heck even no Roche.
I'm pretty sure it's called Whispers.
Something tells me the remake in the title doesn't refer to the game but it refers to how the party's gonna remake the events of the story. I mean isn't it weird to put the word in the title in the first place?
if they really change the story to where aerith survives, this game is dead to me. it was such an important moment in the original
I'm actually kind of excited to see where the game goes from here. Sure it may not be the original story anymore, but I'm intrigued to see how much changes in the later parts
lol good one. guess nomura's still not over his time travel bs after kh3. ugh can't believe square enix gave him the reins for ff7
Having a game with this kind of plot is exciting yes. But please dont call it FF7 Remake. Why not just make a new game with a plot like this.
Okay that's fair, they really should have called it something else. They shouldn't have marketed it as a remake of the original if they were gonna diverge this much
They were heavily implying that they can do it. Heck, theu even demonstrated Barret dying in the end of part 1. And from here on out, anything is possible.
Is this sonething similar to how they titled Danganronpa part 3 as Danganronpa v3? Cause that was so smart AF.
Probably but without the false advertising lmao. If that dude's theory is true, I guess it's kinda clever, but could've done without the not an actual remake fakeout
If they did then I'll probably even support it. But they clearly made it that this is a reimagination of that same game from 1997. It is a remake but it will follow the main story with the characters being more fleshed out.
yeah I wish they were more upfront with the fact that the remakes are gonna totally change the story
So tl;dr , if this is their idea then they clearly lied. And im not buying that shit.
They were probably afraid from the backlash they will recieve. Still, they should have been prepared for that if they're going to pull a stunt like this.
It kinda seems like this is an alternate world. The Zack appearing here might even be the zack from the original. And if this is true then this is bs I say.
The main major plot points are supposed to be intact how they get to those points the said would be changed to make a new game
The main major plot points are supposed to be intact how they get to those points the said would be changed to make a new game
How can you be so sure? Red clearly said that the glimpses they saw were posssible events in the future but since the whispers are gone, all of this goes down the drain.
Nothing is sure now. They even said Yuffie is now a canon character and not optional (if I remember right)
So I guess its safe to assume that the same goes for vincent.
Like awooo the whispers force you to go into a forest and make all the right choices to get yuffie. Damn that would suck. Oops forgot the whispers are gone now.
The next thing we know, these whispers open a new dimension and donald appears from the portal and guess what? He still wont heal you.
Just really wishing square knows what they're doing. Really sad for the new players though.
Based on what happened with kingdom hearts 3 and the criticism it recieved. Im guessing they kinda dont know.
Dont be sad for them. The fact that they only played ff7 remake cause ita trending already means they're not even remotely intereated about the og game. They had 23 years to play. IMO those people are jusy bandwagons.
I wouldn't say they're just part of the bandwagon. The game was marketed as a game for both old and new players, and it's hard to get into a game that old
I guess you're right. But as a defense for myself. Checking any top rpg list and you would always see ff7 there so they still have a chance at playing it but yeah. It was too soon for me to say its just the bandwagon.
Nah, don't worry I see your point. But I guess the only people who would be checking out top rpg lists are those interested in RPGs, so not everyone's gonna find out about FF7 that way
Anyone thinks these whispers are the reincarnation of cloud and others from the 7 original. I mean they prolly died of old age there already and theyre using the ancients powers to go to this timeline and stop it from changing. Half assed theory.
You call it half-assed but I read taht somewhere else so you're not the only one thinking that. It kinda makes sense if you think of the original timeline as the best timeline
Oh wait really? Someone thought of this?
Aerith dying, avalanche team getting wiped out, barret's bro and other lots of tragedies and yet it ends up being the best timeline. If thats true then how grim will this remake be?
I forget where I read it but it's a fairly common theory. And I mean, it technically is the best timeline since they manage to save the world in that one
Yeah, no matter how many tragedies you can avoid, if the world gets destroyed than its all for naught.
So this game is gonna be happy happy everyone but bad end? Isnt that already shitty in a sense?
Well, who knows at this point? Maybe they'll find a different way to save the world while keeping all the happy happy stuff
If things here is happy, no tragedies and everything is fluffy then shouldnt this be the best timeline? From how the whispers are acting, it clearly isnt since theyre trying to protect this timeline from diverging from the BEST one
Man literally too angry to die. Gets rid of his polygons and goes to an alternate dimension. Thats currently whats happening. Part 2 zack comes in. Cloud and zack face seph (ofc with the others too) and go ala power of friendship. Happy ending.
hi,i have a question from parallel world and time traveling experts..
is killing the destiny which lies ahead of them also affect the events happen in the past?
[cont.] i mean how is it possible killing your future and destiny also change the past and as results zack survives?or that zack scene was from other reality different than the game time?
They left the original timeline so it shouldnt apparently
In theory, leaving a timeline and meeting demise somewhere else will have no effect on the original unless somewhere down the future, you return to your own timeline again.
So in theory, that zack scene should be an alternate timeline where he survives. Think chrono cross where the main plot is the world divides into two where 1 you are dead and 2 you are alive.
If my understanding of square is right, they will probably follow this thought that the timeline diverged on zacks arrival ay shinra. And now, his timeline's future is affecting the remake's timeline in a way we still dont know.
How about? Zack lived so cloud didnt become a delusional soldier, went to niblehiem and lived with his fake people. Eventually recovered and reunited with tifa, finds out the truth but its too late, seph destroys the world. Thanks zack.
Seph Later went on to influence other timelines.
Did so by jenova absorbing the power of the planet. Ability to travel dimensions acquired!
So we're gonna get a naruto style story telling where you dont know whos influencing who anymore due to the inclusion of timelines.
You thought it was me sephiroth but it is I jenova, who is controlled by sephiroth that is influenced by the original sephiroth.
oh tnx alot man, so now they left the timeline of the ff7 original game story and advent children and entered a timeline where zack survived right?how they did know to enter his survived timeline?:D
(cont.)and i did not get why time should diverge when zack arrived at shinra i mean did someone do something that moment?why it did not diverge when cloud and others killed destiny in the remake? it could make more sense? :D
Its just a theory. Not facts yet.
A lot of things will be answered when part 2 comes out but the seph right now is most probably, jenova that morphed to sephiroth's form following the real sephiroths will if they did follow the original's story.
Zack appears to save cloud and beat the crap out of sephiroth. Seph just want to be reunited with his mom, they go to a different timeline, zack lives together with aerith who doesnt die and the end. yay everyone happy.
Damn top quality writing you got there. 69/10 best story ever.
Let me guess, meteor is cast but holy isnt cast. Instead, they use the power of friendship and wish upon the stars that meteor alters ita course?
No. They relaunch cids rocket and hit meteor to steer it away.
Cloud goes to kh universe.
Because nomura says so.
Nomura be like. Fates and destinies now! To a completely logical game about identities and an evil corporation.
I guess, a timeline convergence can possibly happen? Multiple universes uniting for the final battle? Zacks timeline, og timeline, and remake timeline?
That is pretty......ugly. if they do then remake is dead to me story wise.
I really think modifying the story is fine. As long as they didnt promise that there will be no changes to the story. But they did. They did say that they will only make it more fleshed out but there will be no changes to the plot.

To those who played the game. It is heavily implied that the game's story will SHIFT! The keepers are acting like admins. Try playing the original and the remake and the keepers appear to stop events that will make the story different from the og.
