If you chose to simulate a Witcher 2 save when starting the game, Morvran Voorhis will ask you a series of questions regarding the events in Witcher 2. Your answers will impact certain quests and dialogues later on.
Otherwise, he will simply ask why none of his soldiers survived while escorting Geralt and Yennefer back to Vizima.

After talking with Yennefer, go outside and talk to the Chamberlain to retrieve your things and end the quest.
Before exiting, you can speak with Ambassador var Attre to learn about the war and the current events in Witcher 3. Additionally, you can loot all the objects in the room. There is a chest to the east that contain ores, runes, and diagrams.

Choosing to simulate a Witcher 2 save file provides additional dialogue and affects specific quests. This is highly recommended for players wishing to complete all side content, as it is required to access one particular quest.
Should You Simulate a Witcher 2 Save File? And Questions
Choosing whether or not to bow to Emperor Emhyr only affects the immediate dialogue after. Bowing surprises Emhyr, while refusing to bow doesn't seem to bother him at all
