Drake (Greatsword) is the DPS in a party of four, with the other three as supports. This team comp utilizes the Lightning attribute and takes advantage of Drake’s King of the Dragons effect to maintain burst and reduce attack cooldowns.

Gilthunder (Longsword) and King (Grimoire) can both be in charge of applying debuffs on enemies to further increase Drake’s damage output. If the two supports are a bit lacking, you can use Elaine (Staff) to increase burst efficiency instead.

Best Weapon Type for Drake

Greatsword Is Recommended

Drake’s best weapon is the Greatsword. It deals great damage and has the advantage of pulling off constant attacks thanks to the shorter cooldown of the weapon's skills. This makes Drake an excellent Greatsword wielder among Lightning-type characters.

Passive Skill Lets Him Detect Treasure Chests in Map

Drake Treasure Detection

Drake’s Adventure Skill, Treasure Detection, highlights nearby treasure chests in the world and mark them on the map. This is especially useful when exploring so you don’t miss out on loot.

Treasure Detection is also essentially a permanent Passive effect, as it is immediately activated upon obtaining Drake, and he doesn’t even need to be in the party.

Drake as a Greatsword User

King’s Magic Increases Damage and Strengthens Skills

Using Drake’s Normal Skill, Lightning Stream, he can apply King’s Magic to enemies. This increases his Lightning Attack as well as Crit Chance for every stack. If you also use his Ultimate Move, Lightning Dragon’s Wrath, this further increases his damage by 30%.

The buff lasts for 20 seconds, but you can maintain steady stacks of King’s Magic on tougher enemies by constantly moving and dealing damage.

Passive Reduces Attack Cooldowns

Drake with the Greatsword works best as a DPS. With his Passive, King of the Dragons, using his Normal Skill reduces his skill cooldowns by 10%, making it possible to use attacks and skills against enemies continuously.

It’s best to start encounters with Normal Attacks, then use the Normal Skill to shorten the cooldown of other skills.

Drake as a Staff User

Electric Current Increases Lightning Damage

As a Staff user, Drake works well as an attack support since he can debuff enemies with his Passive, Electric Current. This decreases Crit Defense by 8% and can increase Lightning Damage for you and your allies. This makes a Staff-wielding Drake a must if you're going for a Lightning team formation.

Continue Building Damage Output with Shock

When an enemy has 3 stacks of Electric Current, this inflicts Shock on them, triggering Lightning damage on them and nearby enemies for 10 seconds. This is an effective way to chip away at a horde of enemies’ HP during large fights.

Active Third Causes Paralysis

Using his Active Third, Lightning Tempest, on Shock can inflict Paralysis on them, making them incapacitated and further decreasing their Lightning Resistance by 15%. If you apply all Electric Current, Shock, and Paralysis consistently, you can maximize Drake’s abilities as a Staff wielder.

Drake as a Longsword User

Normal Skill Applies Pulse to Him and Allies

Drake with a Longsword also works as an attack support. His Normal Skill applies Pulse to him and his allies, which inflicts damage equal to 3% of Attack to nearby enemies. This can also increase the Burst Gauge when hit.

The downside, however, is that you also have to be attacked to maintain the Burst Gauge, though this can be resolved if you have a character like Gilthunder with you to tank hits and accumulate Burst Gauge.

Passive Increases Lightning Burst Efficiency

With Pulse active, Drake’s Passive, The King in Arms, increases Lightning Burst Efficiency by 30%. If you use his Ultimate Move, Phantom Blade, this can decrease Lightning Burst Resistance by 30% for 30 seconds, making Drake very useful in a Lightning-type team.
