The pity system in gacha games refers to a mechanic where, after a certain number of pulls, players are guaranteed to receive a character, a weapon, or a rate-up bonus.
The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin has two distinct pity mechanics across its Hero banners (Pick Up and New Encounters) and Skin banners (Exclusive Skin).
| Banner Type | Pick Up Hero Bonus | SSR |
|---|---|---|
| Pick Up Hero | 120 | 80 |
The Pick Up banner in 7DSO grants a Pick Up Hero bonus for the limited featured hero during its period after accumulating 120 pulls. This bonus doubles the featured hero's pull rate, significantly increasing your chances of obtaining them, but does not guarantee the limited hero at a specific pull count. It will also reset once the banner ends.
However, once you reach the 80th pull, you are guaranteed to get one SSR hero from its pool of characters. Note that draws from the New Encounters (Regular) banner do not contribute toward the Pick Up Banner pull count.
| Banner Type | SSR |
|---|---|
| New Encounters | 80 |
New Encounters is the standard permanent banner for The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, where you are guaranteed one SSR hero after 80 pulls. The featured limited hero in the Pick Up banner is not included in its standard pool however.
Likewise, draws from the Pick Up banner also do not count toward New Encounters.
| Banner Type | Top Tier (Weapon Skin) | Premium (Skin) |
|---|---|---|
| Exclusive Skin | 5 (Chance of dropping starts) | 10 |
The Exclusive Skin banner has a separate system from the hero banners. Its reward pool consists of ten items: 1 Top Tier weapon skin reward, 1 Premium hero skin reward, and 8 Normal rewards.
This banner uses a "Draw-to-Clear" mechanic, where each item can only be obtained once. While the Top Tier (weapon skin) reward will only have a chance to drop starting from the 5th pull, you are guaranteed to obtain all items in the reward list—including the Premium hero skin—by the 10th draw.

It's not recommended to build pity in The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin as it does not guarantee the limited hero in its banner and the draws does not carry over to other banners. Additionally, while an 80-pull pity for the heroes banner does guarantee an SSR hero, it only guarantees that you can get a random SSR character but not a specific one.
It's highly advisable to just aim for the 10-pulls guaranteed skins, or to aim for 80 pulls only if you want any SSR hero.

After the 120th draw, you will trigger the Hero Pick Up bonus, which doubles the pull rate for the featured limited hero. This bonus is exclusive to the Pick Up banner and does not carry over to others.
Note that the rates for other heroes remain unchanged. Additionally, you are only guaranteed a random SSR character upon reaching the 80th pull, not specifically the featured limited hero.
