Actually it just a classic poem with some changes. But for storytelling-thirsty like me, this poem is, breathtaking..
This is mine, second line. And perhaps guys, let's not jump into some conclusion, just collect the mysterious letter one by one. And I do agree with the idea that some writings on the wall is complete the letter instead
(also, apparently I can't type, it's Catullus, not Callatus, who wrote the poem)
Genshin also changed the latin wording to match the feminine form of "friend", so the person the letter was written to is a woman.
TRANSLATION (CONT.) however, I would still be wearied in all the marrow of my bones and eaten away by great exhaustion from seeking you, my friend, for myself. The sky falls away. Falsehoods collapse.
TRANSLATION: Not if I were made the guardian of the (people of) Khaenri'ah, not if I were lightning-fast Barbatos of the lyre, not if I were borne by the flight of Pegasus, not if I were the snowy, swift team of Morphes; add to all this feathered feet and the ability to fly, and at the same time seek the speed of the winds which you could harness and bestow on me, my friend.
This is the full text, which is based on an exisiting latin poem (Callatus 58B). Genshin has adjusted the names and some of the lines to fit its storyline! I've translated based on the exisiting English translation of the original poem.
nos custos si fingar ille Caenrium non fulmineus ego lyrae Barbatos non si Pegaseo ferar volatu non Morphes niveae citaeque bigae adde huc plumipedas volatilesque ventoremque simul require cursum quos iunctos amica mea mihi dicares defessus tamen omnibus medullis et multis languoribus peresus essem te mihi amica quaeritando caelum dilabitur falsitas collabitur

this is "non fulmineus ego lyrae lyrae Barbatos." Google translate is gibberish, but my guess is, "not thunder nor Barbatos' lyre."
looks like this comes out to "Non custos si fingar ille caenrium." Google translates from Latin as, "Not a keeper if he can be imagined."
