Players must fly with their aircraft to grab the most checkpoints in a set amount of time.
Like Air Checkpoints, players compete to collect the most checkpoints. However, these checkpoints are scattered around land and sea instead.
Criminal Damage is for players looking to cause mass destruction! The winner of this competition is the player with the highest amount of property damage.
This competition involves stealing a marked vehicle and holding it for as long as possible. Players can either ride it solo or split their earnings with an assisting player to ensure victory.
This Freemode Event is similar to Hold the Wheel. However, players now fight over a briefcase and try to hold it for as long as they can.
A random player transforms into the Beast, and everyone is out to get them! The Beast, who is faster and stronger than normal, has to visit 10 marked landmarks without dying, while everyone else tries to kill the Beast first.
Take control of a heavily armed vehicle and destroy all the Merryweather patrols in an area.
Become the king and defend your territory! The king earns points as long as they stay alive in the castle. Other players can become the king by killing the current king. The winner is the player with the most points at the end of the event.
Players must stay within a moving yellow dome that shrinks over time. If they stay outside for too long, their vehicle explodes, and are eliminated from the event. The last vehicle standing is declared the victor.
Players compete to steal cargo and then deliver them to their nightclubs or drop-off points. These slightly differ from regular Freemode Events in that players are randomly assigned different missions to complete.
Beat the clock to earn money and RP! Time Trials are weekly races where players have to beat a specified par time. There are no restrictions to the vehicles or routes used, so race as best as you can!
Freemode Events, Freemode Challenges, and Business Battles alternate every 15 minutes after the end of an event. An event ends when time runs out or if a goal has been met.
If Freemode Challenges or Events are not showing up, these may be hidden. To check, open the Interaction Menu, go to Map Blip Options, then Events, then make sure these are set to Show.
If there are still no Freemode Events, there may not be enough people in Freemode. At least 3 unaffiliated players should be playing together. Freemode Challenges will not show up unless there are at least 5 other players.
If all else fails, you can change sessions until you enter one with an ongoing event or challenge.
Freemode Challenges and Events are random competitions that seamlessly happen around Los Santos and San Andreas. Completing these events reward money and RP.
All available players will be alerted with a purple notification before a challenge or event starts. Participation is voluntary, so don't worry if you're not in the mood to compete.
Depending on the event, players may have to travel to a marked destination to join. Aircraft or motorcycles will be provided for players to use for challenges that require them. Players can't keep these though, since they will self-destruct after the challenge is over!
Note that Freemode Challenges and Events are exclusive to GTA Online. GTA Online is already included with GTA V but may be downloaded standalone on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Is GTA Online Free?
Freemode Events, Challenges, and Business Battles may all appear as separate daily objectives. However, clearing a Freemode Challenge or a Business Battle will not count as participating in a Freemode Event because they are considered different objectives.
