Jobs are just one of the ways to make money in Grand Theft Auto: Online (GTA: Online). Read on to learn all about the types of jobs and the list of all the jobs available.
List of Contents
Jobs are activities outside of free-mode that players can play to gain money and Reputation Points (RP) that increases Rank. Jobs are in structured matches or story missions played in either PvP or PvE. Many of these jobs can be done alone, however, some require at least two players.
Missions or Contact Missions, are cooperative PvE modes similar to the main missions played out in the GTA V's single-player mode. Players online will be given a chance to accept missions through texts from contact persons like Lamar or Lester.

Races are PvP game modes where players compete in driving vehicles to get to the finish line the fastest. In this mode, all players will be given rewards such as Reputation Points, Job Points, and money, regardless if players win the race or not. There are also numerous ways for players to race, not just through cars.
Race Types | Description |
---|---|
Lap Race | Lap races are races with a set track that players will have to race through two or three times. The host, however, can set the number of laps up to 99. Players with a personal best time are rewarded with Reputation Points. |
Point to Point Race | These races do not repeat and only go from one end to the other. Players are guided by checkpoints that show the general direction of where to go next. |
GTA Race | GTA races are standard races but with the inclusion of power-ups and the ability to shoot other players. Power-ups like rockets, speed boosts, and vehicle repairs can be picked up by players throughout the race.
The host can choose between Lap Races and Point to Point Races. Players can also leave their current vehicle to acquire a better one. |
Deathmatches are games where the player with the most kills, wins the match. There are three types of deathmatches for players to join in, namely: Standard Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Vehicle Deathmatch. The host can also manipulate variables like weather, time limit, and weapons, among others.
Deathmatch Type | Description |
---|---|
Standard Deathmatch | Simply known as Deathmatch, this game pits all players against each other in combat. Most maps can have up to 6 to 8 players participating at a time. |
Team Deathmatch | Team Deathmatch follows the same concept as the standard deathmatch with the difference being that players are grouped into teams of 2 or 3. |
Vehicle Deathmatch | Vehicle Deathmatch is similar to the standard deathmatch but players are put in vehicles like tanks, choppers, and jets. |
Adversary Mode matches are different sets of PvP matches offered by Martin Madrazo. In Adversary Mode matches, two opposing sides are given specific roles to carry out. Each Adversary Mode match's objective is unique from one another, with different gimmicks and winning conditions for each one.

Last Team Standing is similar to Team Deathmatch where two opposing sides kill each other for more points. The difference between the two modes is that players killed in Last Team Standing remain dead for the duration of the round. Players have to win with what teammates they have left or dominate the opposing side.

In another form of racing, players can compete either alone or against other players. Players score differently depending on how accurate they fly through checkpoints.
Hitting the center of the checkpoint gives players 15 points while anywhere else rewards players with 10 points, while hitting the edges of the checkpoint merits only 5 points.

Survival is a PvE mode where a single player or a group of up to four have to survive against waves of enemies. Waves will only last up to ten with grace periods in between rounds lasting 20 seconds each. These grace periods are there for players to pick up any weapons and ammo, as well as prepare for the next wave. Any player killed during the round will be able to spectate the wave and will respawn after the round.
List of Survival Missions
Mobile Operations are a set of missions that revolve around riding a special military vehicle. Most missions require good teamwork between players as it's common for sections of the mission to have one player drive while the other man a turret while being pursued.

Special Vehicle Work Jobs is a set of missions that has players using modified vehicles. Players can unlock these jobs by doing a set amount of Vehicle Cargo Missions each time.
After completing each mission, players will be able to unlock the vehicles to buy for a discounted price.

Capture is a competition-based job composed of two teams trying to hold on to a specific object. This mode has four different types: Contend, Raid, Hold, and GTA.
Capture Type | Description |
---|---|
Contend | Teams have to secure and bring back a specified package from a neutral area that can either be free from other enemies or A.I. controlled. Both teams will try to get in the way of each other on top of other obstacles. |
Raid | Teams have to steal a package from the enemy's base. Deliver more packages than the enemies to win! |
Hold | This mode has players steal as many packages as possible from a neutral area but are also allowed to steal packages from the opposing team's base. |
GTA | Teams have to try and steal a vehicle and bring it back to their base. The team with the most stolen vehicles by the end of the game wins! |
