Pokemon announced the Diamond and Pearl Remakes on February 26, 2021 with a trailer showing off the Chibi art style, returning locations, characters, and Pokemon! Read on to find out everything we learned from this return to the Sinnoh region in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl (BDSP).

Late 2021 Release Announced

The trailer officially confirmed that the Sinnoh reamkes would release worldwide sometime in late 2021. It has since been confirmed that the exact release date of the games would be November 19, 2021.

Towards the end of the trailer, Porygon-Z is shown in battle. Porygon-Z was previously only available in Sinnoh in the expanded Pokedex of Pokemon Platinum.

Honey Trees Return

Pokemon BDSP Honey Tree Route 205

Honey Trees appear a couple times throughout the trailer, specifically the Honey Trees on Route 205 and in Valley Windworks. It has since been confirmed that the feature of slathering the trees with Honey to encounter special Pokemon will return.

Pokemon BDSP Drifloon Valley Windworks

The trailer also shows the Drifloon that appears in the overworld of Valley Windworks only on Fridays, confirming that this weekly event is returning.

The trailer features a shot of Jubilife TV with a campaign clown standing in front of the entrance. In the original games, you had to answer this clown's question correctly to get 1 of the coupons that unlocks the Poketch.

Chibi Art Style Look

Instead of trying to replicate 'real life' sizes, Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will go with a cuter art style that closely resembles the older Pokemon games. Buildings, NPCs, and Pokemon are smaller in comparison to a more recent Pokemon game like Sword and Shield.
