Highly recommended characters for early game story progression are Roku Saigou and Tsuki Iroha.
Roku is a tank-type character who can draw enemy attacks. With him as a shield, you can fight safely by attacking from a distance with long-range attackers like Tsuki.
Roku is basically a must-have. For the 2nd and 3rd slots, use ★3 characters obtained through rerolling or guest characters from the story.
Use long-range characters for to remain relatively safer in combat. These characters use ranged attacks and can fight from a distance, which helps in not getting hit by the attacks the enemy dishes out.

Even early on, enemy attacks hit hard, so it is highly recommended to practice dodging and countering while learning the Break → Chain Skill → Ultimate sequence.

Tension Cards can be leveled up easily using Kane
and T Points.
If you're struggling, consider leveling them up to improve their effectiveness.

It's recommended to equip characters with appropriate Patimon to get the most out of the characters and their capabilities as certain roles.
For example, assign ones with high sub-stats like Attack+ for damage dealers or attackers, and Defense+ for tanks.

Patimon set effects activate with 2 pieces. If you feel you're lacking firepower, try activating the Attacker set. For more durability, go for the Defender set bonus.

| Using ranged characters allows for relatively safe combat |
In TRIBE NINE, you control one character directly while two others act as NPCs during battle.
If a battle feels too difficult, a good strategy is to let the NPC allies go forward while you deal damage from behind using a ranged character.
