Want to join the best of the best in Online Smash? Read our guide on How to Get into Elite Smash for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (SSBU) for the Nintendo Switch. We further list all tips for raising your GSP, Unlocking Elite Smash, and the currently required Elite Smash GSP for Smash Ultimate!
List of Contents
As of March 5th 2021, the GSP required to get into Elite Smash is around 8.5 Million GSP. The required GSP fluctuates depending on the GSP of all players so this value will likely continue to go up, unless lowered by the devs again.
Elite Smash is a separate match making system for the best players of Smash Ultimate. After achieving a high enough GSP score in regular quickplay battles, you will be granted entry. Note that Elite Smash is only available for characters you have met the GSP threshold with, and other characters will simply go into normal quickplay mode.
When playing in Elite Smash, your performance with that character is considered when the Smash devlopers are making changes to characters during their updates. Characters with extremely low win rates are the most likely to receive buffs.
Update and Patch Note History | How to Update
To gain access to the much wanted Elite Smash match making, you'll first need to prove yourself that you are one of the best. Raise your GSP by besting enemies in Online Smash to join Elite Smash!
When joining the Elite Smash match making, you can only play characters that you have raised their GSP to above the required GSP status. If a character's GSP is below this, that character will be unusable, and will instead enter normal Quickplay. Fight with your favorite characters to climb to the top!
