How to Unlock the Rune Shop at Headquarters

Recruit Jeane

Suikoden 1 - Jeane in Antei

Chapter Unlocked ▶︎ Chapter 4
Location ▶︎ Antei

The Headquarters' Rune Shop is unlocked once you recruit Jeane to your army. Jeane can be found and recruited at Antei.

Level Up Headquarters to Level 3

You can recruit Jeane by talking to her once the headquarters reaches Level 3.

Located on the Lower Part of Headquarters 1F

The Rune Shop at Headquarters can be located on the southern part of the first floor, marked with a sphere-like icon.

When exploring the world, you can find runes shops available in the towns of Gregminster, Lenankamp, Seika, Village of the Elves, and Antei.

What To Do at the Rune Shop

Equip Runes

Suikoden 1 - Rune Master

Using the Rune Shop allows you to equip Runes to your characters for free. Select an Orb from your party's inventory, then choose a party member to equip it to. This equips the Rune, which you can use in combat.

List of All Runes and Effects

Remove Runes

At the Rune Shop, you can remove Runes from a character. The removed Rune will be returned to the character's inventory as an orb, ready to be attached to a different character.

Runes Exclusive to a Character Cannot be Removed

Falcon Rune

The hero's Soul Eater and Valeria's Falcon Rune are character-exclusive Runes that cannot be removed. In addition, only one Rune can be equipped to a character at a time, so characters who have their own Runes cannot be equipped with another one.

Some non character-exclusive Runes cannot be removed

Thunder Rune
Sheena Lightning Rune
Fukien Resurrection Rune
Hellion Mother Earth Rune

There are certain Runes that cannot be removed once they are equipped to particular characters, even though they are not character-exclusive Runes. Once these characters are equipped with certain Runes, they cannot be equipped with another.
