How to Get Rathian Early

Use Qurupeco's Monster Call in Perennial Pass

For an early Rathian egg, have Qurupeco use its Monster Call in Perennial Pass until you get its encounter. Afterward, have it retreat by using a Paintball and using any trap on it before defeating the Rathian.

To trap the Rathian, you must wait for it to do any attack apart from Savage Fire Breath!

Rathian Location and Retreat Conditions

Find in Monsonne Plains

You can find Rathian and their egg nests in Monsonne Plains. With a Qurupeco's Monster Call, you can lure them out and possibly make them retreat!

Make Rathian Retreat

To get guaranteed Rathian eggs, you can make them retreat by following the conditions above conditions. Afterwards, follow them to their den and gather an egg from their nest while Rathian is sleeping!

Optionally, you can get the Den Protector skill to further increase the chances of Rathian retreating. You can get this skill early with the Pink Rathian's armor, Rath Heart Armor!
