Barrel Felyne Location
Best Location is in Trese Salt Caves
You can constantly find a Barrel Felyne inside the Trese Salt Caves, which is located on the northeast corner of Trese Desert and has a Catavan Stand at the entrance. The cat spawns in the big area right in the middle of the cave.
This Trese Salt Caves location is the most guaranteed area where you can find a Barrel Felyne, considering Barrel Felynes are rare monsters and they spawn at almost every location in the whole map.
You can easily farm Barrel Felynes at Trese Salt Caves by defeating one in the cave, then coming back out at the entrance, wait for 1 to 2 minutes, then come back in the cave, and a Barrel Felyne should respawn at the same spot.
How to Beat Barrel Felyne
Use A Big Barrel Bomb
You can easily defeat Barrel Felynes by using a Big Barrel Bomb against them. Simply, select Items in the Battle Menu, then choose the Big Barrel Bomb in your Battle Pouch. That should easily defeat Barrel Felynes.
Get the Big Barrel Bomb Recipe by Completing Book of Combos and Boom Boom Book Subquests
To use the Big Barrel Bomb, you have to complete the Book of Combos and Boom Boom Book subquests requested by the Traveling Merchant in Oasum.
You will obtain the Big Barrel Bomb Recipe upon completing the Boom Boom Book subquest.
Get Materials for the Big Barrel Bomb Through Expedition in Trese Desert

You can easily get the materials to combine to make a Big Barrel Bomb by sending out your Monsties on an expedition in Trese Desert. The materials you need includes a large barrel, fire herb, and a nitroshroom.
The expedition option will be available in the Stable Paw by completing the Rebuilding Story Quest in Albatrax.
Use Any Attack That Deals 50+ Damage
You can also easily defeat Barrel Felynes by using any attack that deals more than 50 damage. This is considering that a Barrel Felyne's HP is only at 50, but they have high defense and resistance.
Note that Barrel Felynes are known to Flee immediately on their first turn, so be sure to defeat them quickly.

Upon defeating Barrel Felynes, you will constantly receive 10,000 XP. You can also get rewarded with materials like large barrel, aged felvine, pawprint stamp, training charm, and lucky charm.
Note that the materials rewarded will vary depending on your combat rank result. Defeating Barrel Felynes are also a great way to farm XP.

Hello, It's doesn't work anymore. I playing on remastered pc version then when i trying to wait after to destroy barrel felyne he doesn't spawn. I think this trick is patched on remastered version.
