Gather Every Resource

Like any Monster Hunter game, resources are king! However, unlike other titles, you have an infinite storage space. Utilize this freedom and always look to gather from resource spots so that you will not need to go out of your way to gather an item for a quest or equipment!

Configure Your Battle Pouch Sets

If you ever find yourself in a pinch, your battle pouch should be able to help you! Always configure your battle pouch sets for specific scenarios, like having a battle pouch designed for cold areas or making Monsters retreat.

Memorize the Enemy Patterns

Each monster you face will have different patterns when it comes to head-to-head attacks. Keep note of a monster's tendency whenever you are out on the field.

For example, if you know a Velocidrome will use a speed attack but your monstie opts to perform a power attack, you can use a monstie skill to avoid losing the head-to-head!

Keep Multiple Tendency Types

The combat in MH Stories can be surprisingly complex, so it is always recommended to keep multiple Monsties with different tendency types. If you do, you will have covered most of your bases if you swap around your Monsties depending on the opponent's tendencies.

Sneak up on Monsters for a Free Turn

If you are having trouble fighting a monster, try sneaking around the monster's rear. Doing so will give you a free round in combat!

Look out for Rare Monster Dens

Sometimes, you will encounter golden monster dens. Always try to explore these rare dens since they nest eggs that have unique monsters with more powerful genes.

If an Egg Is Smelly and Heavy, It Is Better!

The more an egg is smelly and heavy, the more it will have better stats and genes allotted to it. Look out for smelly and heavy eggs if you plan on making the ultimate Monstie!

Makes Use of Weapon Combos

Each weapon has a different set of combos that will heavily increase the damage dealt when done successfully. Memorize this and utilize the best combo depending on the opposing monster. For example, keep on spamming three power attacks of Hammer on a Velocidrome!

Replace Unwanted Eggs

While gathering eggs from a nest, you will often get less than-desirable eggs. To replace this in the hopes of a better egg, gather again until you have found the Monstie you are looking for, or until the nest is empty!

Make Monsties Retreat

If you ever find yourself wanting a specific Monstie, have them retreat back to their den to guarantee getting their eggs while they are sleeping.

Collect the Lost Poogies

The fan-favorite Poogie returns in MH Stories. You will find them scattered around the game, and collecting each of the Lost Poogies will compensate you with a reward that will make you squeal with joy!

Pray or Offer to the Prayer Pot

If you have Zeni or Charm to spare, visit the Prayer Pot and offer your wishes to various buffs. Oftentimes, you will pray to get an experience boost, quickly leveling up your Monsties!

Make Checking the Quest Board a Habit

Every now and so, people will have personal requests and post them on the Quest Board. These sub-quests do not have a notification, so it is recommended to check them.

For convenience, take the quests you can do on the way to your objective, as it gives out extra Zeni and more combining recipes!

Blue Text Means it is a Quest Item

While you are out to complete your quests, the game highlights required items with blue if they are essential for quests.

Be Creative with Rite of Channeling

With the right mindset and creativity, you can create unique and powerful Monsties that fit all scenarios using the Rite of Channeling. You can also make joke Monsties such as a Water Yian Kut Ku; the world is your Konzu!

Find Felyne Hideouts for Healing

When you are low on health but do not have the means to heal yourself, look for Felyne Hideouts. These hideouts are often found at the end of small holes your Rider can fit into. Talk to the Felyne to heal yourself for free!
