How to Unlock Multiplayer
Defeat Dan After the Cheval and Lilia Quest
| Step | Tutorial |

| 1 |  Complete the story quest Cheval and Lilia. |
| 2 |  During the Check Up on Hakum Village quest, talk to Dan and defeat him and his Monsties in battle. |
| 3 |  After defeating Dan, Network Battle gets unlocked. Go to the Camp Menu and select Return to Title to play at any time, but be sure to Save your game first! |
Network Battle, the only multiplayer mode in Monster Hunter Stories, is unlocked after the Cheval and Lilia Quest, which can be completed after 1-2 hours of main story progression.
Is There Co-Op Multiplayer?
No Co-Op Multiplayer
Unlike the mainline games in the Monster Hunter series, Monster Hunter Stories does not include a Co-op Multiplayer feature.
Instead, players can engage in PvP battles through the Network Battle feature with other players.

The only multiplayer mode in Monster Hunter Stories is Network Battle, which allows you to create a Battle Party with your favorite Monsties, set your preferred rules, and compete against other players.
Playing through consoles will require a subscription for access to online multiplayer.
How to Play Multiplayer
Accessed from the Title Screen

| 2 |  You will be prompted to load either a save or your autosave. Select the save you want to use for battling other players. |
Online multiplayer is primarily accessed from the game's Title Screen. Later in the game, you'll unlock a Battle Arena which will allow you to access Network Battle within the game itself.
Network Battle Menu
Once you get to the Network Battle, there are a few options you can select:

 Here, you can select your Battle Party and choose the Monsties you want to use in battles against other players. You can also organize your Battle Party Sets here. |
| Equipment |
 This is where you can adjust your equipment before battling other players, from Weapons, Armor, and Accessories. |
| Stickers |
 Stickers are a way to communicate with other players during battles. You can view all of them here. |
| Battle |
 This is where you can battle other players and their Monsties. You can also set your preferred rules. For console users, a subscription for Nintendo Switch or PS4 is required to access this feature. |
