Shield Bash	Dropped by a teleporting Scarab near the East Bridge Trestle Site of Grace.
Through and Through	Kill invisible Scarab just outside the Volcano Manor.
Shield Crash	Dropped by a teardrop scarab hanging below the bridge north-west from the academy towngate site of grace.
Rain of Arrows	Complete the Redmane Painting puzzle.

Quality Affinity Ashes of War

Skill	How to Get
Determination	Determination can be looted from an invincible Teardrop Scarab found on the eastern side of the beach of West Limgrave, near some pillars.
Square Off	Coming soon.
Storm Blade	Dropped by defeating the Grave Warden in Limgrave.
Storm Stomp	Storm Stomp can be found in Stormveil Castle, at the top of a staircase guarded by soldiers mounting a ballista.
Stormcaller	Obtained from a Teardrop scarab in Stormveil Castle.
Storm Assault	Dropped by a scarab below the Rampart Tower site of grace.
Spinning Strikes	Obtained from Edgar the Revenger's Banished Knight's Halberd +8.
Vacuum Slice	Found in one of the abandoned houses in Deeproot Depths. The house contains several perfume breating gargoyles so speed is required when approaching.
Royal Knight's Resolve	Found in the deepest part of the Prison Town. Just after the worshipping ghouls in the manor, head up then left to find a fog gate that requires a stonekey. Open it then proceed to the deepest depths. It can be found on one of the corpses in the room nearby.
Phantom Slash	Dropped by the Night's Cavalry North-east of the Forbidden Land site of grace.
Shared Order	Dropped by the Night's Cavalry near the Altus Highy Junction in Altus Plateau.

Ground Slam	Dropped by a Teardrop Scarab near Liftside Elevator, right side down the stairs.
Barbaric Roar	Dropped by a Teardrop Scarab, northwest of Ravine-Veiled Village.
Lion's Claw	Defeat the Lion Boss inside Fort Gael.
Stamp (Sweep)	Dropped by a Teardrop Scarab on a beach west of the Church of Elleh.

Repeating Thrust	Repeating Thrust can be found underground after going down a flight of stairs near the center of Gatefront Ruins in Limgrave.
Spinning Slash	Purchased from Knight Bernal in Warmaster's Shack.
Quickstep	Purchased from Knight Bernahl.
Unsheathe	Obtained from a corpse on the east side section of Limgrave's huge central lake.
Raptor of the Mists	Defeat the bloody finger Ravenmount just before the lift to Raya Lucaria.
Bloodhound's Step	Defeat the Night's Cavalry at the northern part of the Caelid region.
Sword Dance	Dropped by a Teardrop Scarab northwest of the Converted Tower.
Double Slash	Dropped by a Teardrop Scarab on the rooftops of Sellia, Town of Sorcery.
Beast's Roar	Obtained atop a giant frozen skull near the First Church of Marika. There's a spiritspring behind the skull which you can use to make the leap to the top.
Giant Hunt	Dropped by the Night's Cavalry found south from the Bellum Church.

Magic Affinity Ashes of War

Skill	How to Get
Carian Greatsword	Purchased from Rogier at Stormveil Castle or the Roundtable Hold.
Gravitas	To obtain this Ash of War, you must defeat the Alabaster Lord roaming the shore near the Seaside Ruins Site of Grace in Limgrave. It uses Gravitas as its attacks and will drop it on defeat.
Spinning Weapon	Purchased from Rogier at Stormveil Castle.
Glintblade Phalanx	Coming soon.
Glintstone Pebble	Purchased from Rogier at Stormveil Castle.
Carian Grandeur	Looted from a hanging corpse in Carian Manor. From the Upper-level manor, keep heading deeper into Carian Manor until you pass the horde of enemies, including a troll, some pages, and some glintstone sorcerers. Instead of heading to the boss room, turn left to find some descendable platforms. Keep following the path, the lootable corpse is right before re-entering the Carian Manor's gardens.
Loretta's Slash	Defeat Loretta.
Thops's Barrier	Dropped by a Teardrop Scarab northwest of the Folly on the Lake.
Earthshaker	Obtained from Bloody Finger Hunter Yura's Nagakiba.

Fire Affinity Ashes of War

Skill	How to Get
Flaming Strike	Dropped by a teardrop scarab on the rear section of Redman Castle.
Eruption	Purchased from Knight Bernhal after he moves into the Volcano Manor.
Flame of the Redmanes	Defeat the invisible scarab near the Fort Gael North Site of Grace in Caelid.
Prelate's Charge	Dropped by a teardrop scarab hanging on one of the poles just outside the Guardian's Garrison on the Mountaintop of the Giants.

Chilling Mist	Dropped by a scarab near Renna's Rise at the Liurnia of the Lakes.
Hoarfrost Stomp	Dropped by a scarab southeast of the Main Caria Manor Gate.
Ice Spear	Dropped by Night Cavalry
Waves of Darkness	Redeemed from Enia by using the Remembrance of the Naturalborn.

Sacred Affinity Ashes of War

Skill	How to Get
Holy Ground	Available as a unique default skill of the Rickety Shield or dropped by defeating Tree Sentinel in the grassy plains of Limgrave, near a hill.
Sacred Blade	East of Summonwater village Site of Grace, dropped by a teardrop Scarab.
Golden Vow	Coming soon.
Vow of the Indomitable	Obtained from a teardrop scarab on the swamps eastward from the Albinauric's village.
Sacred Order	Coming soon.
Golden Land	This can be obtained by killing a scarab in the Deeproot Dephts region, south from the Site of Grace of the Great Waterfall Crest. This scarab will be hiding in one of the bushes so it can be easliy missed. This skill can be imbued to any Great Hammer, greataxes, and colossal weapons.
Prayerful Strike	Kill the scarab just on the lake side area of Leyndell Capital directly west of the Outer Wall Phantom Tree site of grace.
Sacred Ring of Light	Coming soon.
Golden Slam	Defeat the Teardrop Scarab on the Woodfolk Ruin just near the Altus Plateau Erdtree.
Golden Parry	Dropped by a teardrop scarab in the staircase leading south-east to a locked gate. Look for a Finger Reader Crone then head south-west and you'll find it atop one of the balconies in the area.

Occult Affinity Ashes of War

Skill	How to Get
Lifesteal Fist	Dropped by a Teardrop Scarab at Caelid.
Spectral Lance	Dropped by a Teardrop Scarab, east of Church of Cuckoo.
Assassin's Gambit	Purchased from Knight Bernhal after he moves into the Volcano Manor.
White Shadow's Lure	Dropped by an invisible scarab near the area where you obtain the map of the Consecrated snowfields. It is followed by a pack of wolves.

Blood Affinity Ashes of War

Skill	How to Get
Bloody Slash	Dropped by the Knight at Fort Haight.
Blood Blade	Defeat the invisible scarab north-west from the Erdtree Gazing Site of Grace in Altus Plateau.
Seppuku	Defeat the Invisible Scarab near the Freezing Lake Site of Grace in the Mountaintops of the Giants.

Poison Affinity Ashes of War

Skill	How to Get
Poisonous Mist	Dropped by a teleporting Teardrop Scarab at Swamp of Aeonia.
Poison Moth Flight	Dropped by the Night's Cavalry on caleid region just north of the Dragon's Communion

Unlock More Affinity Via Whetblades

Glintstone whetblade with a cipher engraved. Can be used as a whetstone knife. When applying an affinity using physical or magic-type ashes of war, an additional affinity of magic or frost can be chosen.

Aside from the base affinity each ashes of war provides, you can also unlock new Affinities for your weapons by obtaining whetblades! These whetblades will allow you to equip these affinities regardless of the chosen ash of war's affinity type!

How to Use Ashes of War

Ashes of War Controls

To activate your weapon's equipped Ashes of War, press the skill button to launch the move set of the weapon. Depending on the Ashes of War skill you have equipped, you can launch additional attacks by pressing the skill button again or by pressing the attack button.

If your left hand is bare or depending on the weapon you have equipped, you can activate the weapon skill without switching to two-handed grip. Keep in mind that when using your Ashes of War skills it will deplete your fp gauge, when your fp reaches 0 you will no longer be able to use these skills.

How to Two-Hand Weapons

Enhance Equipment at Sites of Grace

Ashes of War are weapon skills that can be equipped at Sites of Grace to grant specific stat scalings and new damage modifiers to your equipment. Managing your Ashes of War will be greatly beneficial to your playthrough as it can allow your change damage types and play styles for certain weapons. It also modifies stat scaling which allows players to modify weapons to better suit their build stats.

Equip New Skills

Aside from modifying stat scaling and damage type, Ashes of War can also grant new usable skills. Stat scaling is optional for Ashes of War, so you can forego the change in scaling and only equip the skill when beneficial.

Not Equippable on All Gear

Ashes of War cannot be equipped on all gears! If an Ashes of War is related to shields, then chances are it can also only be equipped on shields.
