Nintendo Unveils Latest Collaboration with LEGO

LEGO Game Boy Launches October 2025

Nintendo announced another collaboration with LEGO, and this time, it is a Game Boy. Launching in October 2025, this is the second console to get a LEGO treatment, with NES being the first.

Though this is exciting news for both LEGO and Nintendo fans, the announcement on Twitter (X) is filled with questions about the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. One Twitter (X) user jokingly thanked Nintendo, "Thanks for finally revealing the new console." Meanwhile, another user mentioned, "At this rate, switch 2 for Lego would be out before the system reveal."

Though Nintendo has yet to make a more detailed announcement about Switch 2, President Furukawa stated on May 7, 2024 that they "will make an announcement about the successor to Nintendo Switch within this fiscal year." Fans will just have to wait for a little more time as the company’s fiscal year is ends in March.

Nintendo has not revealed the price of this latest LEGO set, but more information will be released in the coming weeks or months.

Aside from the NES LEGO set, Nintendo’s past collaboration with LEGO brought beloved characters among its biggest gaming franchises like Super Mario, Animal Crossing, and The Legend of Zelda (TLZ).

Last May 2024, LEGO released a 2,500-piece LEGO set featuring an iconic character from the The Legend of Zelda series. The "Great Deku Tree 2-in-1" set showcases the tree from Ocarina of Time and the Breath of the Wild, and even includes figures of Princess Zelda and the legendary Master Sword. This set can be purchased for $299.99 USD.

Two months after the announcement of the TLZ LEGO set, LEGO also released a new Super Mario Set, depicting Mario and Yoshi from Super Mario World. Instead of a regular playset, this LEGO set shows the in-game sprite of Mario riding Yoshi, where a crank can be rotated to make Yoshi’s leg move. This set is available for $129.99 USD.
