the only guarantee is that snez will have at least 1 cyro char. In natlan the pyro nation was the only pyro char mauvika and by the current direction of genshin powercreep chars is that they are restricted mostly to 1 elemental reaction. So it is unknown if the snez char is for freeze, melt, cryo crystalizstion or supercharged.
I am also a returning player after like a 4 year break, and my current DPS teams are very constricted to just electro themed. My current teams are: 1. Hu Tao, C3 Xingqiu, C6 bennet, Jean (Does about 50k per charged attack fully buffed) 2. Varesa, Bennet, C1 Iansan, Xilo (Does ~210k per mini burst fully buffed) 3. Flins, columbina, C6 Fischl, C4 Sucrose (Does ~300k per mini burst fully buffed) The Hu Tao team is basically irrelevant now so I am trying to build a new DPS team
I don't have Skirk, as a matter of fact, I don't have any decent cryo/hydro DPS units. My plan was to pull for Esco as she seems a decent cryo support/sub-dps and healer. Especially with that 55% RES shred. And then wait for whatever new meta cryo units coming to Snez and pulling for them in the future. Basically almost guaranteeing a premium freeze team.
additional if you have skirk: pull for 1 char( (escoffee) would cost less pulls than for 2 chars (Nefer + Lauma). Also the dendro team need hydro apply like the flins team. I don't think that the varesa team will be getting a new support so soon and would think that build a electro team on flins will be more help. There are also leaks that sandrom will get a comeback with support for the cryo x electro reaction, which can be ooen new ways for some combinations
if you don't have skirk, than i wouldn't recommand to pull escoffee. If you already have skirk, than the pull for escoffee would be recommanded for you. Background is, that the 135-140k for Nefer and Lauma require columbina, which is already part of one electro team of yours. (I think this is the stronger one) For some events and the abyss you need 2 teams, so a share of one char for multiple teams isn't a good idea.
With Snez next, there's going to be a lot of Cryo shill, certainly. However, Freeze will likely be be brutally snubbed so people don't try to bypass the nation with Skirk and Esco. That said, Esco can still fit *okay* with non-Freeze teams

Also noticed that a lot of the niche bosses require a freeze team. So I am kinda conflicted on what to pull.
Is it worth pulling for Esco? Trying to build a freeze team. Only decent hydro applicator I got is Xingqiu and Coloumbina. Although I do have 2 electro DPS teams. (Varesa and Xilo, Flins and Coloumbina.) My main problem is that when I am facing any electro themed boss who has high electro res, I am basically ****ed. Or should I just keep waiting and save for the upcoming Lauma and Nefer banner according to leaks? Pulling both of them.
I definitely have pulled for both weapons and constellations for older characters just because they are a personal favorite. However, I tend to focus more on collecting characters I like but missed out on in the past which leaves me with lots of weak characters or characters lacking their best team. Your method probably works a lot better, lol.
i think i am one of these people. I pull less chars, because i like not so much new chars, but the chars i pull getting more constellations or sig weapons. Is this the same situation for you?
Plenty of people still consider how much they like a character when deciding if they should pull. I have useless characters I happily pulled for based only on the character design/personality and there are characters I wouldn't pull for even if they guaranteed 1 hit kills. However the gameplay is focused overwhelmingly on dps output and gimmicks so its hard to blame people for fixating on it. Also dps is just much easier to measure and compare than likeability is.
You're looking in a completely wrong direction here. It's not players fault, but devs fault that new characters are either too broken (but restricted to death) or just trash (and restricted to death). Also now supports deal more damage than main dps do lol. There actually 0 point of getting main dps now at all. You can make team of 4 sub/buffers and it will be broken anyway.
That take is as cold and nothing as outer space
Hot take: I think nowadays when pulling for a character people are obsessed with damage and that's the only thing they consider instead of pulling a character because you like that character if the character is a top tier dps/support but has terrible design and personality and story people will still rather pull for that character instead of a character with top tier story, design and personality with average numbers
he is still SS material pretty much every new support is a neuvillete buff and if Sheznaya is cryo focused the neuvillete will be meta there too
According to leaks chasca and Linnea in the first half and nefer and lauma in the second half of 6.5
Leaks: Lauma, Nefer and Chasca should have an rerun. Theory by myself: Shadow Silouetts on the left are hexerei chars and on the right side the chars are lunar reaction chars.
If you're running her with Zibai, you're fine aside from Lunar Crystalize's inherent limitations. Linnea's practically Zibai's personal Escoffier. She heals, does Lunar Crystalize damage, and *only* Geo RES shreds (half of it gated behind Ascendant Gleam).
