The Antlion Boss Battle Guide

Details

The Antlion has several annoying moves, and can be a difficult fight when taken on with the wrong strategy. Be sure and steal the items from this boss before beating it (see items below).

Moveset

The Antlion counters every physical attack against it with Counter Horn. It also has a devastating move called Sandstorm that reduces everyone's HP down to single digits. On top of that, it can use Troubled Mucus, which can inflict trouble to one party member. And lastly, it can use Fira.

Strategy

Steal items while having Vivi use Focus repeatedly. Do not attack the Antlion, as this will make it counter with Counter Horn. Have Quina use White Wind whenever the Antlion uses Sandstorm to restore everyone's HP. Follow this up with Freya's Reis's Wind to apply Regen to your whole party.

Once all items are stolen, have Vivi use Blizzara against the Antlion repeatedly. With its amplified damage from Focus and the Antlion's weakness to ice, it will fall easily. Just have everyone else defend while Vivi does his job.
