    Does it matter if you level the unit you used to imprint with before or just use it at base right after summoning?

    No. The gears and artifact are back to your inventory. Even if your inventory is full ( f.e. 450/450 you will get 457/450)

    if you use a unit with gears and an artifact for a memory imprint, do you lose the artifact and gears of that unit?
