You can find Shiny Flutter Manes easily by using the Shiny Flutter Mane Glitch in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV)! Read on to learn what the Shiny Flutter Mane glitch is, and the steps to do the Shiny Flutter Mane glitch!
List of Contents
This Glitch works by overriding Flutter Mane's spawn mechanic using Meal Powers.
Flutter Mane usually only spawns at night, but when using this glitch, players are able to spawn Flutter Manes on command by pressing the ZL Button.
1 | Setup a Picnic somewhere near Area Zero. For best results, do this at the start of the day. |
---|---|
2 | Create a Shiny Sandwich for Ghost Type Pokemon! Recommended Recipe: Salty Herba Mystica (x2) and a Red Onion! If you don't have 2 Salty Herba Mystica, you can use 1 Salty and 1 Spicy Herba Mystica. |
3 | Enter Area Zero and head to Station 3. From here, enter the cave before you. You should see no Pokemon inside at this time. |
4 | Inside the cave, you should find a central platform. You'll need to head over here and stand in the center. |
5 | Look around you and press ZL. This will cause Flutter Mane to spawn, but they will just as quickly disappear. This is similar to the Picnic Table Method for respawning. |
6 | A Shiny Flutter Mane should appear in the first few minutes! Capture it with Dusk Balls! If you can't find one, try checking near the Crystals as Pokemon can sometimes glitch inside them. |
7 | Repeat until your Meal Power runs out! |
When using this glitch, you may notice that Flutter Manes, or any Pokemon spawned in using this method will almost instantly disappear as well. Shiny Pokemon that are spawned, however, persist indefinitely, giving players a better chance at catching these rare Pokemon.
The only way for Shiny Pokemon to despawn is if the player strays too far away from the Pokemon, so make sure you approach one as soon as you see it!
Since this Glitch spawns in Flutter Manes which are specific to Pokemon Scarlet, the best way for Pokemon Violet players to utilize this glitch is by joining a Pokemon Scarlet player's world through the Union Circle. The steps above remain the same even with other players, but both players must remain in close proximity in Area Zero for the other player to see the Pokemon Scarlet version exclusives.
Currently, Area Zero is bugged, and players won't be able to see each other, but game exclusive Pokemon will spawn for the other player as long as they are in the same area. Communicate with your friends on navigating Area Zero to maximize efficiency and make it easier for both players to farm shinies!
Multiplayer Modes: All New Co-Op Adventure and Connectivity Options
By using this glitch, players no longer need to rely on the game to spawn Pokemon and just run around looking for wild shinies that they want. By constantly spawning in multiple Pokemon, your chances of finding a shiny exponentially increases, especially if you are spawning only one specific Pokemon.
This same glitch should also work on other Pokemon that appear only during certain times of day! For best results, find areas where they are the only Pokemon of their type to spawn and adjust the Shiny Sandwich for those encounters!
For other Pokemon that aren't glitching, check out our Shiny Hunting Guide!
Shiny Hunting Guide and Shiny Odds
Since the glitch works by forcing specific Pokemon to spawn using meal powers, only Pokemon that spawn during certain times of the day can be affected by this glitch.
The Flutter Mane cave in Area Zero still remains the most optimal spot for this glitch, due to Flutter Mane being the only Ghost-type Pokemon that spawns in that part of Area Zero, and the only one that spawns at night.
Some Pokemon may be harder to shiny hunt using this glitch, especially if they spawn in areas where other Pokemon may spawn as well.
The Shiny Flutter Mane Glitch exists due to an oversight with how the Sandwich mechanic was programmed, so there should be no reason for players to be banned from doing so. It also does not give players an unfair advantage.
