Apart from their different colors, you can also identify Shiny Pokemon by a unique animation that plays before the battle starts. Shiny Pokemon will have this different shining effect and sound whether they're sent out from their Pokeballs or encountered in the wild.

Apart from their different colors, you can also identify Shiny Pokemon by a unique audio cue that plays whenever they're encountered in the wild. When they make their entrance, a sound effect similar to chimes will play, denoting their Shiny state.

What are Shiny Pokemon?

Shiny Pokemon are Pokemon that have a different color compared to their regular counterparts. Some Shiny Pokemon may just have a different shade of the original's color, while other Shiny Pokemon sport a completely different color palette.

Shiny Pokemon were introduced in Generation 2 and have been included in all succeeding games since. They are highly sought after by trainers, who hunt for them in the wild or breed them at the Nursery.
