re4 is already perfect. it might get ruined by this remake they're planning.
capcom is rushing thing arent they? the news (might be rumors) about re4 remake will be released in 2022. It's too early for it I guess. They should carefully remake the game or else it will turn out like this. re3 remake is not a major blunder but there are a lot of things to improve on.
you can feel that this remake is rushed. not worth to buy in full price.

downtown part is so big, feels like its 50% of the game

yep. I would have been more disappointed to them if it's just like a straight road, no twist or puzzles.
Let me ask you a question, would you play the game if it only has one straight path to follow? No, right?
It's not really to stall the players, this is still a puzzle game. not only a shooter game. It's is the part of the game that you should accept.
that's what I hate with games tbh. They should just think of other ways to stall the players. Or make the game harder by default.
they increased the search time so that the game will take longer to finish. so common in all games.
the downtown area is more open and longer yep. it requires more searching and fewer puzzles to solve compared to the other parts.
The longest part outside is the downtown area. the rest is inside a building or close area.
enjoy the great graphics outside while some huge dude follows you around.
Yeah so they just focused more on the indoor areas. Almost all the outside battles are very short and yet they boast on how good their graphics on the outside
It is short. unless you are in hardcore mode. It makes the battle a little longer 'cause it's harder.
Is it really that short? I haven't played the originals and for me this clocktower part is just right
