The effect itself won't kill you, but if you die while under the effect the death animation will change to a unique one.

I got infected and walked around for 15 minutes. She limps around, her heartbeat gets faster, her vision gets messed up, and she gets drained down to the "Danger" health level, but she just won't die from it. Would have been cool to see an Alien style death or something though.

Now I'm curious too. Would it show a different death animation when you die from parasite damage?

Ever tried to just stand still and wait ehile having a parasite? Just to see what it does cause I'm curious as hell too.
