What Kind of Character Are They? | ・Neutralizes skills that are effective on dragons ・Inflicts fixed damage to the opponent and recovers HP on the 4th turn ・Converts enemy's bonuses into penalties |
Might: 16 Range: 1 Neutralizes "effective against dragons" bonuses. At the start of turn 4, deals 10 damage to foes within 3 spaces, and restores HP to unit = number of foes within 3 spaces × 5. If foe’s Range = 2, calculates damage using the lower of foe’s Def or Res. |
Cooldown Count = 4 Boosts Atk by 50%. |
If foe initiates combat and uses bow, dagger, magic, or staff, grants Def/Res+6 during combat. |
At start of turn, converts bonuses on foes in cardinal directions with HP ≤ unit’s HP into penalties through their next actions. |

Atk (25) | ★★★★★ | |
Spd (5) | ★★☆☆☆ | |
Def (9) | ★★★★☆ | |
Res (8) | ★★★☆☆ |
◯ = Stat gains +4 with a superboon, ✕= Stat goes down by -4 with a superbane, - = No assets or flaws
See the IV Checker for All Units | Trait Fruits—How to Change IVs |
When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
As a hero obtainable only through Grand Hero Battle, Garon will always have neutral IVs by default. The only way to access IVs for this unit is through using Trait Fruits.
The best IVs for Garon are+Atk and -Spd. This IV maximizes the damage Zephiel can deal. His Spd is of less importance as it is very low and very unreliable. If you wish to nail follow-up attacks on Garon, we recommend getting Quick Riposte 3 on him. Check out the builds section to know more.
We recommend a +Atk IV when merging Garon to 10. This is for the same reasons as above. We strong ly recommend getting Quick Riposte 3 in Garon as it makes him a deadly enemy phase unit.
If you prefer a more defensive Garon, get a +Def or +Res IV depending on your needs.

This is a tank build for Garon. Distant Stance allows counterattacks against ranged foes and improves Dragon Wall as well. Quick Riposte guarantees a follow-up attack on enemy phase.
Exclusive Weapon Effect from Refining (Special Effect Type) | |

SP: 400 | |
Might: 16 Range: 1 HP: 3 Neutralizes "effective against dragons" bonuses. At the start of turns 3 and 4, deals 13 damage to foes within 4 spaces of unit, and restores HP to unit = number of foes within 4 spaces × 13. At start of combat, if unit's HP ≥ 25%, grants Atk+5 to unit and inflicts Atk-5 on foe during combat. If foe’s Range = 2, calculates damage using the lower of foe’s Def or Res. If foe initiates combat or if foe's HP ≥ 75% at start of combat, grants Atk+5 to unit and inflicts Atk-5 on foe during combat and also inflicts Special cooldown charge -1 on foe per attack. (Only highest value applied. Does not stack.) :500 :200 |
|
The special effect refine of Breath of Blight applies the damage and healing on both turns 3 and 4, improves the damage and healing amounts, creates a 20 point Atk swing by granting Garon Atk+10 and his foe Atk-10 during combat, and applies a Guard effect to his foe during combat to prevent Specials from being triggered.
Needless to say, this refine option renders the other options obsolete. Use the special effect refine for best results.

Note: Stats bonuses from skills are not taken into account.
Garon is a close magic attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Res stat.
Breath of Blight disables effects that make weapons effective against dragons, such as the effect of Sealed Falchion. Garon already has naturally high defenses, and Breath of Blight eliminates one of his weaknesses. This makes Garon's durability very reliable.
On the start of the 4th player phase, Breath of Blight deals 10 damage to all enemy units 3 spaces around Garon. It also heals him for the number of foes hit x5. It may take a while to kick in, but for longer battles, this is a useful ability to have.
Distant Def 3 grants Garon +6 Def/Res every time he is attacked by a unit whose range = 2. Breath of Blight's damage calculation against ranged units uses the weaker of the said unit's Def/Res. This makes Garon a threat to all ranged units.
Panic Ploy 3 converts units' bonuses in Garon's cardinal direction into penalties, meaning all positive stat boosts turn into negative stat reductions. This effects all units in spaces above, below, to the right, or to the left of Garon. With his high HP, this is a powerful skill for Garon, since it is easy for him to debuff many enemy units with lower HP.
Although Garon's defensive stats are very high, his Spd is quite low, meaning he will often take follow-up attacks, and if taken from a blue unit, that damage will add up quickly. One solution for preventing these follow-up attacks is inheriting Quick Riposte 3 onto Garon.

Garon can be used to inherit the skills Distant Def 3 and Panic Ploy 3. However, since the number of Garons you can get from Great Hero Battles are limited, think carefully before you fodder him off.
Garon is a Hero who, for a limited time, can be obtained through completing a Grand Hero Battle for the first time. They do not appear in regular summons. After the event has ended, they can be obtained by using Heroic Grails.

There is a difference between you and the preening and posturing fools here, {Summoner}... You seem to have purpose. Hehehe... Do not misunderstand me. Do not expect praise! Your life has no worth to it. No one’s does! I am no exception. Devote yourself to your land, your people, your wife, your children... They will all vanish. Hehe...bwahaha! Do you understand? Everything...will be gone one day. Together, all will perish. It is the will of Anankos, and I understand it acutely... |

Super bulky! Shame he doesn't have DC built into Breath of Blight.
