+Spd/-HP

The best IVs for Raigh are +Spd and -HP. A higher Spd stat allows Raigh to score more follow-up attacks on his foes. It also helps him take less follow-up attacks from said foes. Additionally, his Spd is a superboon so you should take advantage of it as much as possible. A superboon means that he gets +4 Spd instead of +3. His HP is of less importance and it can be improved via the weapon refinerey so it is safe for him to take it as a bane.

We recommend the Special Effect Refine for Hermit's Tome

The special effect refine of Hermit's Tome is very easy to trigger, but it is very rewarding! You can easily gain +6 to all stats through the refine alone. It also keeps the effects of Hermit's Tome and Rauðrwolf+ so you do not have any reason to keep Raigh from getting this refine if you have the resources for it.

Rauðrwolf+ Evolution:

Rauðrwolf+ can be evolved into Keen Rauðrwolf+ through the Weapon Refinery.

One of Raigh's weapons can be evolved into a Keen Rauðrwolf+ and you can certainly go through this route. However, Hermit's Tome is superior. The Keen Rauðrwolf+ specializes as an anti-cavalry weapon, but the Hermit's Tome provides a more general and less niche power boost to Raigh.

Raigh is a ranged magic attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Res stat.

Raigh Strengths

Rare Anti-Cavalry Weapons

Raigh has access to many weapons that are great against cavalry units. These are niche weapons, but it is very rare! Raigh might fit into one of your parties that are in dire need of a unit like Raigh. A weapon like these can be very useful in Aether Raids where very strong cavalry units like Brave Veronica, Legendary Eirika and Reinhardt might be waiting for you upon raiding an Aether Keep.

Can support allies with Rally Attack

Raigh can also cast bonuses on his allies with his default assist skill. As a versatile skill, it can be kept in this slot and used in order to have Raigh fill a support unit role.

Raigh Weaknesses

Hard to make use of Seal Res 3

Seal Res 3's effects are applied after combat, so Raigh would not be able to take advantage of it in his first attack. He will need an magic ally to exploit it or a refresher-assist ally to refresh his action so that he can hit the opponent affected.

He can also go for a more risky route and bait someone in the enemy phase so that they will be debuffed through the next player phase. We recommend that you only do this if you have a well-invested Raigh with the Hermit's Tome special effect refine. This way, he will not be taken out easily as he will boast a dense amount of stats.

Does not have a strong sense of uniqueness

Raigh has a good balance of stats, but he does not boast any unique skill nor characteristic that sets him apart from other red tomes other than his strength against cavalry units. Make sure to get the Hermit's Tome special effect refine for a huge power boost!

Seal Res 3 is a skill that Raigh can not easily take advantage of without an ally. Here are some powerful magic users that will greatly benefit from the -7 Res!

Raigh does not deal with blue units well. Make sure to include characters like Hoshidan Summer Elincia or Legendary Hector into Raigh's team so that he does not need to deal with said blue units.

Dragonstone characters with adaptive damage and Distant Counter

Raigh is a ranged unit with imbalanced defenses. This means dragonstone characters with adaptive damage and any ability that grants the Distant Counter effect counters him very hard. Be mindful of units that has the ability to take Raigh out with a counterattack and leave them to your other units. This allows Raigh to focus his firepower onto other units that he can easily manage.
