Just gonna say I just picked up Dark Lord Style: Charizard and I've been using him more lately and I think 1st that Flamethrower Fire Blast is underrated 2nd Charizard as a whole is underrated.

Cool down for muscle band is reduced for Charizard. I use him in ranked, winning and getting MVP regularly. I would recommend an update in his tier status to be much higher. Personally I see him as an A tier with Blastoise and Venusaur.
This article is really outdated... it doesn't take into account how the latest updates have changed Charizard's play style. First of all the evolution to Charizard at 7 instead of 9 makes him much more useful midgame; he now does have a way to self sustain with standard attacks healing him; his crit rate gets up to 30% which is top tier in the game; it should be noted however that his basic attack speed cannot be increased with the muscle band, rapid fire scarf or x attack, however the internal

I like to use Flare Blitz/Fire Punch build, with Upgrade Fire Punch, you can lower the cooldown, and Flare Blitz gives a shield, and I think that's neat
Flamethrower and Fire Blast are basically essentials for Charizard because said moves provide it with availabilities spanning from range, escape or even keeping opposing Pokémon at bay. They also provide leeway should Charizard players decide to use its Unite move.
