I never played the original too.. But from what I heard from people, almost all of the story that was in this remake was also in the original, it's just the ending that changed things around.

Can I just say that its kinda sad that they introduce a whole separate story.. I never played the original, and was looking forward to experiencing the story and joining in on the lore with everyone else through the remake..
