If they want fans to enjoy both, they could include both in the game, kinda like what they did with the remaster of FFX
Been going through old trailers, and just remembered about Roche. Guy seems kinda pointless, anyone else actually excited for him?
music is as important as other elements in a game in general, not only in Final Fantasy. they might want to achieve something. It's risky, yes and it might even raise arguments especially from players of the original. But, they might want fans to enjoy both original and new music.
I wouldn't be surprised if that's already planned to be a "secret" part of the main storyline. Crisis Core was a hit, and I'm sure they'll add it (funny, because it's already, canonically, the past) to the game in some way, shape, or form.
I didn't even think about that until I read your post. THAT's what's missing. Those water droplet-ish sounds DO remind me of childhood. Haha.
This is way acceptable. Like what is her life during the absence of zack. Or before she met cloud.
I don't think they'll revive her or anything, but I figured they'd reveal something new about her character
It's way better than his signature ". . ." Actual human speech is one of the few new things I welcome in this game. It beats having to smash X forever just to get through speech bubbles.

NO. Optional or mandatory it's not supposed to work like that. The whole story literally revolved around her the last of her kind.
I vote that it should come in a DLC that's not mandatorily available. That way players should decide for themselves if Aerith stays...well, dead. Or if she lives. Simple as that.
I don't think it'll be your cup of tea, but the classic mode is not your normal turn-based gameplay. Sorry if that bursts your bubble.
If they revive Aerith then this game is officially thrash. They can't remove one of the most iconic moments in ff.

agreed, have you seen the interview? the devs actually had a hard time choosing between retaining the original or placing a new music since they knew there will be several old timers playing the game. Still, you can hear the Final Fantasy feels mix right into it. I actually like how the scoring went.
Apparently something untold about Aerith is gonna get revealed in the remake. Anyone have any idea as to what that might be?
There's no rule that says villains need to be ugly. Just as there's no rule that villains can't be just as justified as the heroes. In fact, the most compelling stories have no clear villains and heroes - just characters doing their best to survive with what they're given.

So, is this just the old farts' way of cashing in on their fellow old farts' nostalgia and on the new kids' ignorance about the games of old? Game developers used to lead progress. Now, some of them have stooped to the level of haters that tried to stop them.

Whoa, 70 hours is crazy long. Are you serious, or are you just exaggerating? RPGs should only last 30 hours max. 25 would probably be average. If you were right and you played the game for 2 hours every day, it would take you 35 days to complete it. That's more than a month, yo. That's not healthy. Do you play games 24/7?
Does anyone have any news about this? I mean, why even have a lock-on function when it makes the game more difficult? Features are supposed to help, right? Also, this is only an issue, because they decided to make real-time an option. There was nothing wrong with the original, turn-based, gameplay. Don't fix what ain't broke.
I doubt that the any lockdown can affect any game's release date, but it could affect vendors' stock and shipping times. If that's what you're worried about, cross your fingers. Would rather risk your health to play this game, or just be safe and wait?
Ohhhh that's a pretty smart way to do things ngl. That should leave more room for stuff with the other characters in the next part too

I'm genuinely wondering whether this game will feature as much grinding as the last one. I hope it's a whole new dynamic, but it could be the ol' 'level-gap' dynamic.
should i be scared? i think i need to do several saves in this game. are there going to be sudden boss fights? i remembered playing ff8 and haven't prepared enough, no proper equipment and stuff and don't ask what happened next.. terrible..
Well that's a nice kick right there for two reasons. The only one I'll specify is that the graphics look like they've been done superbly.
