On the other hand, if you're asking because you think they're similar genres and games, they're not. They're both RPGs, but Cyberpunk is more Grand Theft Auto than FF7's, well, FF-ness. Which one appeals to you more? If you can't decide, play both
I'll be watching this closely. Now that they've started this, don't stop now. I'm feeling a FF8 Remake should be in the works.
Are you asking because you can only afford to buy one? If that's the case, the more original option is Cyberpunk 2077. FF7 Remake is exactly that - a remake. So many industries are over-saturated with remakes, reboots, and nostalgia. Aren't you tired of it? Don't you want to experience something new instead of a rehash of old ideas?

Is this a PS4 Exclusive? Can I pay to play on something else? I have no desire to get a PS4 just for this game, but I do want to see what all the fuss is about.
As an FF geekboy, here's a story about chocobos. When square is about to get bankrupt. they thought of game. They poured their last souls into it and named it as their last game hence the title Final Fantasy. For the chocobo, they just made some people make random doodles, the chocobo was a character a guy with no art skills made. They made that doodle into a character and turned it to a yellow chicken you can ride. Yeah, the creature's name is a chocobo.
It's so entertaining to have this come out 22 years. It's like they've been planning to resurrect it all these years, yeah?
Amen. I'm one of those old-timers. It's just not a Final Fantasy game without turn-based gameplay. All of this real-time stuff was probably made to cater to the declining attention spans and to the increased need for instant gratification of today's youth. If it's real-time, then it's just a plain ol' RPG.
I was thinking there might be a flashback story where you control zack and not cloud since technically spoliersss for those who have no idea about the story of a 23 yr old game. Cloud's memory reimagined himself as zack due to mako poisoning. So the flashback event can just happen easily while transfering every stats cloud got to zack and vice versa.
While Barrett sounds like he's a brag when he fights, love how Cloud shoots him down each time. Ah...good ol' days, indeed.
I hope the map gets fixed. I like seeing a little detail in my games, where I'm going, small details too. The current map doesn't have that.
You think the events of Crisis Core might end up as DLC? I was thinking they were gonna make it a flashback thing in a later part
Anyone else think they should have kept the sound effects from the original? Those cursor sounds are what childhood sounds like to me
If you're like me and you like displaying your games on a shelf for visitors to see, you already know the answer to your question. But if you're not a fan of adding stuff to you're already cramped place (also me), then think about it carefully. Haha. I only keep things I support. I think FF7 is fun, but I don't go around actively supporting it. So, a digital copy is fine. Do you.
Now here's a thought. With all the DLCs, is there a big possibility they'll include characters like Zack Fair here?
Coming here from FF12 and FF8. I do hope the mechanics of the game won't be too complicated, just like FF12 has.

I haven't noticed, because I haven't played the demo (just watched some videos), but pretty soon, we're probably going to start having to place things like materia ourselves, with VR.
He's defiitely hinting at the origins of Final fantasy. All FF fans knows about chocobos as the mascot and mount of all the ff series.

They used to be a one time ability that uses one move. How is THIS disappointing? The way they did it is marvelous.

Nice question. It can be gilgamesh for all I care and he's definitely a welcome sight in the game.
