When booting the game on Version 2.0.1 or higher, you'll receive a call from Jacq, asking you to come to the Academy's Entrance Hall.
Once you get there, speak to Briar and proceed with her conversation to learn about your trip to Kitakami! Jacq will get your Pokedex updated to include Teal Mask Pokemon as well!
How to Get to Kitakami and Access the Teal Mask Content
The levels of wild Pokemon and trainer battles will scale depending if you have finished the base game's main story or not.
If you have finished your adventure in Paldea, you will be battling Pokemon that are level 60 and above. If not, Pokemon will be between level 10 to 30.

 Receive a Call from Professor Jacq Wherever you are in the game, once players have purchased The Teal Mask DLC and have updated their game, Professor Jacq will call the player and tell them about a school event. |

 Speak with Briar at the Entrance Hall Fast travel to the Entrance Hall, then speak with Briar. From there, she will brief you about the school event and receive Kitakami Pokedex. |

 Speak with Briar again to proceed to the Kitakami region! |

 Head North to Reach Mossui Town After the cutscene, head north to reach Mossui Town. From here, you can also open the map and switch between the Paldea and Kitakami maps accordingly. |

 Play the Ogre Oustin' Minigame As you and Kieran explore the festival, you will get a chance to play the Ogre Oustin' minigame where you can gather Berries and place them at Berry Baskets to earn a high score. |

 Follow the Mystery Kid...? After playing Ogre Oustin', you will encounter a mystery kid looking around the area. Be sure to chase after them once they run off! Note: You will obtain the Teal Mask item after this. |

Completing the main story of The Teal Mask DLC should take about 4-5 hours, assuming that you focus solely on the main objectives and leave behind side content to do for later.
