Moves Breakdown

Superpower Play Rough
Zen Headbutt Tailwind

Superpower is the most important move of the set, as it synergizes with Contrary, giving Enamorus stat boosts instead of reductions.
Play Rough is Enamorus' primary STAB option, however, it has a chance of missing.

Zen Headbutt is a good option to use against Psychic-weak Pokemon like Amoonguss.

Tailwind is a solid option even in Single Battles, as it can allow Enamorus to outspeed Pokemon that it usually does not outspeed.

Steel is the best Tera Type for this build as it can give Enamorus resistance to common Steel-type Moves, as well as Electric and an immunity to Poison.

Best Steel Type Pokemon for Ranked Battle

EV Spread and Nature

This build focuses on speed and power, which is why we maximize Attack and Speed. The remaining 4 EVs are put into HP to increase it by 1 point.

Other Viable Moves

Iron Head Iron Head gives Enamorus coverage against Fairy-types and other Steel-weak Pokemon.
Outrage An odd move inclusion for a Fairy-type, but a solid option especially after Superpower Attack boost.

Ability and Held Item

Ability Held Item
Contrary Pokemon Scarlet and Violet SV - Choice Specs ImageChoice Specs

The ability chosen for this build is Contrary. This dissuades the opponent from dropping Enamorus' stats and also boosts its Attack and Sp. Atk whenever Stellar Tera Blast is used against a Terastallized opponent.

The item chosen for this build is a pair of Choice Specs. This boosts the damage of Enamorus' Sp. Atk by 50%, helping it get a quick and easy KO with a Stellar Tera Type.

If Enamrous feels slower than the opponent, then consider changing its item to a Choice Scarf instead.

Moves Breakdown

Moonblast Earth Power
Mystical Fire Tera Blast

Moonblast is its strongest Faity-type STAB move that has no downsides whatsoever.

Earth Power is its main coverage move to help it deal with Poison, Steel, and Fairy-types that resist Moonblast.

Mystical Fire is used for Steel-types that are immune to Ground moves like Corviknight, Skarmory, or Levitate Pokemon with a Steel Tera.

Tera Blast is saved for the opponent's Terastallized Pokemon, so that Enamorus can hit it with a super-effective Stellar attack once Terastalllized. It will also boost its Sp. Atk thanks to Contrary.

Pokemon Ground Type Icon Pokemon Dragon Type Icon

Stellar is the best Tera Type for this build because it helps Enamorus OHKO the opponent with whatever move it chooses to use, especially against Terastallized opponents with a Stellar Tera Blast.

Note that even if it's a Stellar Type, it keeps the defensive properties of its Fairy/Flying typing.

Stellar Tera Type Explained

EV Spread and Nature

A full 252 EVs are placed in Enamorus' Sp. Atk and Speed to make it hit as hard and fast as possible. The extra 4 EVs are put into its HP to help round out its bulk.

A Timid nature is preferred to help Enamorus outspeed as many Pokemon as possible.

Other Viable Moves

Sludge Bomb Used over Mystical Fire so that Enamorus counters Fire/Flying Pokemon instead of Steel/Flying.
Superpower Enamorus' only other move that benefits from Contrary. If using this move, consider using a physical build instead.

Ability and Held Item

Ability Held Item
Overcoat Pokemon Scarlet and Violet SV - Assault Vest ImageAssault Vest

Enamorus (Therian Forme) has Overcoat as its Ability. This is a very useful Ability to have as it gives it immunity to Spore/Powder moves such as Spore and Rage Powder, rendering the ever-present Amoonguss useless when against Enamorus.

Assault Vest is its Held Item, as it gives Enamorus added Special bulk.

Moves Breakdown

Moonblast Mystical Fire
Earth Power Sludge Bomb

Moonblast is Enamorus' primary STAB move, which will be its most used move.

Mystical Fire can hit Steel-types like Corviknight who are immune to Earth Power.

Earth Power is good Ground-type coverage, which can deal damage to Electric-types and other Ground-weak Pokemon.

Sludge Bomb allows Enamorus to hit opposing Fairy-types, as well as Grass-types for super-effective damage.

This build focuses on bulky offense, so a full 252 are put into HP and Special Attack. The remaining 4 EVs are put into Special Defense to slightly increase the effectiveness of Assault Vest.

Other Viable Moves

Grass Knot Grass Knot gives Enamorus coverage against bulky Water Pokemon, or heavy Grass-weak Pokemon like Stonjourner or Great Tusk.
Springtide Storm A strong spread attack that has a chance at lowering the opponent's Attack stat.

How to Use Enamorus Effectively

Use Enamorus (Incarnate Forme)'s Contrary Ability

This Ability is especially useful in formats where Intimidate is rampant. Enamorus (Incarnate Forme) also has access to Superpower, which will boost its Attack and Defense instead of reducing it thanks to Contrary. This combo was seen before in Malamar, who had a mediocre Physical Attack. Enamorus (Incarnate Forme) is without a doubt, a better user of this combo thanks to its better Attack stat and overall better Stat distribution.

Use Enamorus (Therian Forme) in Trick Room

Enamorus (Therian Forme) has a very low Speed stat, making it a viable Pokemon in Trick Room teams. It is not exactly the slowest, however, as Pokemon like Amoonguss and Torkoal will still outspeed it in Trick Room.

Do remember that Enamorus (Therian Forme) has the Overcoat Ability, which can allow it to ignore Amoonguss completely because Overcoat gives it immunity to powder moves, as well as weather effects.

List of Powder/Spore Moves

How to Build a Team with Enamorus

When building a team around either Enamorus, it is good to have switch-ins as well as ways to enable it to go offensive. Incarnate and Therian Formes have vastly different stat distributions, so teammates who can support them are good to have.

Sample Singles Team with Enamorus (Incarnate Forme)

Physical Attacker Special Attacker Physical Attacker
Enamorus (Incarnate Forme) ImageEnamorus (Incarnate Forme) Gholdengo ImageGholdengo Roaring Moon ImageRoaring Moon

Enamorus (Incarnate Forme) can lead off a match and immediately use Superpower to raise its stats instead of reducing it thanks to Contrary. Gholdengo can switch in for Enamorus thanks to its many resistances, while Roaring Moon can switch in for Gholdengo, because it resists Ghost and Dark, two of Gholdengo's weaknesses.
These three make up a Fairy-Steel-Dragon core that can switch in for each other because of their natural type synergy.

Sample Doubles Team with Enamorus (Therian Forme)

Annihilape ImageAnnihilape Farigiraf ImageFarigiraf
Special Attacker Special Attacker
Enamorus (Therian Forme) ImageEnamorus (Therian Forme) Torkoal ImageTorkoal

Choice Scarf Annihilape can help enable Farigiraf's Trick Room with a quick Final Gambit. Enamorus (Therian Forme) can come in and sweep after Trick Room has been set up, similar to what Torkoal does when it comes in during Trick Room and Sweeps.

Counters for Enamorus (Incarnate Forme)

Use Faster Pokemon or Steel-Types

Steel-type Pokemon wall Enamorus very hard, leaving it with few ways to damage them outside of Mystical Fire.

Quicker Pokemon like Chien-Pao, even though it is at a type disadvantage, can come in and revenge kill thanks to its Sword of Ruin Ability after its teammate has been KOd.
