What Kind of Character Are They? | ・Inflicts debuffs to enemy unit's Spd and Res and also neutralizes bonuses to their Spd and Res ・Reduces damage from enemy unit's first attack ・Grants another action to an ally with the highest HP after combat (also affects units with Sing or Dance) |
Might: 14 Range: 2 Grants Spd+3. At start of combat, if foe's HP ≥ 50%, inflicts Spd/Res-6 and neutralizes foe's bonuses to Spd/Res (from skills like Fortify, Rally, etc.) during combat, and also, if unit initiates combat, reduces damage from foe's first attack by 70%. |
Cooldown Count = 3 If unit initiates combat, after combat, grants another action to ally with the highest HP within 2 spaces (excluding unit) that has already acted. (Once per turn.) (Allies with Sing or Dance can be granted this effect as well. If multiple units meet the conditions, effect will not trigger.) If an ally is granted an additional action this way, inflicts "restricts movement to 1 space" on that ally (and their Pair Up cohort). |
If unit is within 2 spaces of an ally, grants Atk/Spd+5 to unit during combat, and also, if unit is inflicted with any Atk/Spd penalty, grants bonus to unit's Atk/Spd during combat = current penalty on each of those stats x 2 (Example: If unit has -7 penalty to Atk, grants Atk+14, for a net bonus of Atk+12.) Calculates each stat bonus independently. |
Disables foe’s skills that guarantee foe’s follow-up attack and foe’s skills that prevent unit’s follow-up attack. |
At start of turn, if Special cooldown count is at its maximum value, grants Special cooldown count-1. |
Stat | Superboon/Superbane | IV Recommendation |
---|---|---|
HP (16) | ★★★☆☆ | |
Atk (10) | ★★★★★ | |
Spd (11) | ★★★★★ | |
Def (4) | ★★☆☆☆ | |
Res (9) | ★★★★☆ |
◯ = Stat gains +4 with a superboon, ✕= Stat goes down by -4 with a superbane, - = No assets or flaws
See the IV Checker for All Units | Trait Fruits—How to Change IVs |
When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
The Best IVs for Brave Marianne are +Spd and -Def.
With her superboon in Spd, Marianne gains Spd+4, making her a speedy unit that can double almost every unit in the game.
Her Def is already low so it's safe to take it as her dump stat.
If you are trying to merge a +10 Brave Marianne, we recommend +Spd.
With a Spd asset, Marianne's Spd will reach 49, allowing her to potentially one-shot a lot of units. You can also opt to have a +Atk merge as well for more firepower.

This build uses Wings of Mercy to warp to a space near an ally and attack, triggering Requiem Dance to provide an extra action to said ally. Null Follow-Up ensures that Brave Marianne can create a follow-up attack if she wins a Spd check.

This build also focuses on raw damage, but more of a solo build. Position your allies properly at least 1 space away from Marianne for maximum results.
Exclusive Weapon Effect from Refining (Special Effect Type) | |
---|---|
SP: 400 | |
Might: 14 Range: 2 HP: Accelerates Special trigger (cooldown count-1). Grants Spd+3. If unit initiates combat or foe's HP ≥ 50% at start of combat, inflicts Spd/Res-6 on foe, neutralizes foe's bonuses to Spd/Res (from skills like Fortify, Rally, etc.), and reduces damage from foe's first attack by X% during combat (if unit initiates combat, X = 80; otherwise, X = 30). At start of combat, if unit's HP ≥ 25%, grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res+5 to unit, deals damage = 20% of unit's Spd (including when dealing damage with a Special triggered before combat), reduces the percentage of foe's non-Special "reduce damage by X%" skills by 50% (example: a foe with a "reduce damage by 45%" skill would reduce damage by 23% instead), and neutralizes effects that inflict "Special cooldown charge -X" on unit during combat. :500 :200 |
|
Brave Marianne's refined Phantasm Tome gives an accelerated Special trigger, damage reduction on her foe's first attack (80% on player phase, 30% on enemy phase), bonus stats, bonus damage equal to 20% of her Spd, cuts the effectiveness of her foe's percentage-based damage reduction by half, and neutralizes her foe's effects that slow down her Special charges.
This is a great refine for Brave Marianne. The most important part is the accelerated Special trigger, bringing down the cooldown of Requiem Dance to 2 which makes it a more reliable Special than before this refine. The rest of the effects are all good and help Marianne's combat potential.

Note: Stats bonuses from skills are not taken into account.
Brave Marianne is a ranged magic attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage she deals will be equivalent to her Atk minus the foe's Res stat. In addition, her weapon skill has the effect of Dazzling Staff built into it.
Phantasm Tome's debuffs to Spd and Res are reflected on this Bow Flier.
Brave Marianne's weapon will inflict Spd/Res-6 if her target's HP is ≥ 50% at the start of combat and will also nullify any bonuses to those respective stats during combat.
This means units that use visible buffs to combat her will have their effects be nullified and will be debuffed on top of that.
Marianne also reduces the first attack of her target by 70% when she initiates combat, which means that she can attack without fear of being one-shot on the clapback.
Requiem Dance grants Brave Lysithea another action.
True to her Brave outfit featuring her as a dancer, Marianne...somewhat does that with her Special.
Requiem Dance will grant another action to her ally with the highest HP within 2 spaces when she initiates combat.
A notable thing is that this skill affects your team's own dancers, so it's possible for a dancer to use their refresh skill, have Marianne grant them another action so they can refresh another unit.
However, this will restrict the ally's movement to 1 space, much like Legendary Leif's Special, so take your team's positioning into account.
Due to her kit lacking Close Counter, Brave Marianne is vulnerable against melee units as they can just go up into her face without her being able to retaliate.
Her damage reduction is also dependent on her initiating combat, so she will be receiving the full brunt of damage if she is attacked.
While Brave Marianne nullifies bonuses, she only cancels visible buffs.
Invisible buffs such as those provided by Joint Drive Spd, Drive Res, and similar skills can still be stacked on her target in order to mitigate her damage.

Brave Marianne can be used as fodder for Atk/Spd Unity, Null Follow-Up 3, or Time's Pulse 3.
These are very useful skills to give to any unit, but Brave Marianne is powerful hero in her own right, so consider building her first before foddering off an extra copy.
Due to the current limit being inheriting only 4 skills, you cannot inherit all 3 from her and as such, will have to get the lesser tier skills from others.
Brave Marianne is a Hero who can be pulled from any summon.
Note: Not currently a featured hero in any Summon events.
