To unlock the Sushi Shop, play through all the shops and complete their minigames at least once to trigger an in-game event. This will unlock both the Sushi Shop and the Shuriken Shop respectively.
Note that you don't need to unlock or do other requirements with the shop to trigger the event, just play through all shops at least once!

Go to the small alleyway in-between My House and the Personal Training Gym to see Gotchi King and Princess Tamako. Approach them to start the event. Note that you can't bypass them and the event will trigger regardless.

Once approached, you will start a conversation with them alongside Prince Tamahiko about the shops in Tamahiko Town. Let the conversation play out and you will then encounter Gozaruchi who will request your help in mastering his art via opening shops along the alleyway!

After the conversation, the alleyway opens up to the player. Immediately head to the first wooden door of a blue house into the alleyway and an exclamation symbol will appear, use your Interact key to enter Gozaruchi's Secret Sushi Shop!

The Sushi Shop uses the Switch 2's Mouse Mode to allow you to serve fellow Tamagochi customers your own handmade sushi in-game!
To enable Mouse Mode, carefully detach your Joy-Con 2 and rest the optical sensor (the colored magnetic end with lights) on a flat surface, preferably with a mouse pad and control them like a regular mouse.
Controls Guide for Switch 1 and Switch 2

If your Joy-Con 2s are still attached, the game will notify you to detach them before playing as the game will. When your Switch allows you to press the A key, it means you did the steps before correct!

You wil then be introduced to your Tamagotchi customer and unlike other shops like the Dentist, there will be no lines waiting outside This will be the last introductory step as you will be notified that the mini-game will start after!
Note that there are no clues provided to what type of Sushi the character will want in this phase and that will only trigger real-time during the minigame section itself.
The Mini-Game for the shop then begins here, you are first required to grab the Shari on the right, using the Grab key of the Switch while in Mouse Mode. The game does a small vocal jingle when you successfully pick the rice up. Sweep your Joy-Con 2 Mouse to the sushi table to begin molding.
With the Shari in-hand, press the R and the ZR key at least three times to get the perfect Shari mold, looking like a Sushi. Overdoing it or under-doing the Shari will turn it into a ball shape, indicating that it isn't perfect.
Pick up the Wasabi on the table using the Grab key once again and move your Joy-Con 2 Mouse up and down the grater to get grated wasabi that you can collect and put on top of the Shari.

There will be customers that will indicate that they cannot take Wasabi, so be careful when making your Sushi and look at any flags the customers put on the counter!

There is a ingredients list on the back of the shop that the player must follow to get the correct Sushi the customers want. This must be followed from right to left or the Sushi will not taste good to the customer!

The ingredients list might also indicate that the specific ingredients must be cooked. Use the fire grill on the left to char the ingredients. Make sure to look at the ingredients properly and make sure to correctly char the ingredients requested!
Once the Sushi has been fully prepared, serve it to the customer by grabbing the complete sushi using the R and ZR keys of the Switch then swipe the Joy-Con 2 Mouse to the mouth of the customer then press the A or the X, Y or B keys to serve it!

The customers will sometimes request Gari and Tea if they run out while waiting for your next sushi. You can serve them these by going to Gozaruchi at the right and pressing your Grab key to either serve the orange Gari or green Tea.

| Description | Serve sushi to groups of customers. |
The Sushi Shop is one of Gozaruchi's three shops in Tamahiko Town, available only on the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game. This little hole-in-the-wall shop secretly serves customized sushi to Tamagotchi customers!

The Sushi Shop is exclusive only to the Switch 2, alongside the Shuriken and Sushi Shuriken Shops that Gozarutchi manages, as they use the hardware features of that console!
This shop in particular, uses the Switch 2's Mouse Mode, allowing you to directly interface with the Sushi and feed it to the Tamagotchis by sliding the Joy-Con 2s to their mouths.

Availing the Upgrade Pack allows the Switch 1 version of the game to get the features of the Switch 2! You will still need a Nintendo Switch 2 to have the minigames function, however.
This pack is meant for people who want to utilize their Switch 2 with the Switch 1 version of the game and if you are in this crowd, we recommend getting the upgrade to get the full experience, including all three Gozaruchi shops!
Switch 2 Edition Differences

The Switch 1 version of the game blocks the road where the Sushi Shop would have been located and you cannot access the back alley where the shop is located unless you get the Switch 2 Edition.

Compared to the shops facing the town plaza, this shop seems to present no known options for upgrade and as such can be prioritized last if you are aiming to have shops upgraded first!
This also means that aside from collecing Gotchi, the shop itself is purely a fun addition that the player can look around and play with if they want new content.
