Three additional shops are made available in the Switch 2 edition of Tamagotchi Plaza, giving you a total of 15 shops to manage. The three shops can't be accessed with the Switch 1, which means you'll have to upgrade if you want to man shops with Gozarutchi!

Tamagotchi Plaza's Switch 2 edition uses the new console's mouse mode and optical sensors in its three exclusive shops.
The edition also comes with quality of life improvements, like upgraded hardware, upgraded resolution from the larger screen, better application of gameplay mechanics, and the improved controls of the Joy-Con 2.

The Switch 2 physical copy of Tamagotchi Plaza is supported on the Switch 1. You can load you cartridge in the system and the game will still play!
If you can also get your Tamagotchi Plaza cloud save onto your Switch 1, you will be able to continue your progress from where you last left, but the Gozaruchi shops will be removed.
This feature has only been confirmed for Tamagotchi Plaza so look at the compatibility of your game before deciding to slot Switch 2 games in the Switch 1!
| Edition | Price |
|---|---|
| Switch 1 | USD 39.99 |
| Switch 2 | USD 49.99 |

If you started on the Switch 1 version, you can always upgrade in the Nintendo E-Shop for $10.00. Just know that you will still need a Switch 2 to use the new features.

The Switch 2 edition is undeniably the best version to get as it contains all the content of the Switch 1 Edition with the improvements of the Switch 2 and is also playble with the Switch 1! Don't miss out on the extra shops and the chance to try out the new Switch 2 features.
The Switch 2 physical version supports playability on the Switch 1! This makes the Switch 2 version more worth as it allows you to play the game on the Switch 2 once you have the console but still play it on the Switch 1 first!
It's also no worries if you don't have the Switch 2 yet. The Switch 1 version already has a lot of cute Tamagotchis and fun minigames to keep you entertained!
