Create Roles in Your Team
Having roles in your team is the most important strategy to do in Mage Arena. You will win a lot more games if each member in the team knows what they are doing.
Appoint Attackers in Your Party
Set attackers to charge against enemy bases. An attack party can help in reducing your enemies from the map. Be wary though, as other parties may do the same.
Set Defenders to Protect the Base
The base must have defenders at all times. As this game is essentially a base-raiding game, other players will always try to capture your base. Set defenders to protect your home base.
Choose Foragers to Search and Trade for Materials
Get Foragers on your team to collect materials. Items are essential in the game and resources are quite hard to come by, so you will have to set this role apart from your attackers.
Build Companions to Assist You
Companions can greatly assist you in combat, as they don't take up inventory slots and have significant effects in the game. Stack Golums for your team to get extra attackers to kill enemies.
Mushroom Man is also more effective than any mobility item, as all your team members can use it as a jump pad to get from one area to another. The Levitator, for example, can only be used in single-target casting, so you won't be able to bring an entire team with you.
Coordinate Attacks with Worm Hole
Worm holes can teleport some spells to a certain area. You can coordinate your attacks with your entire team to flood an area with damaging spells like Fireball.
Rush to Get Excalibur
Excalibur is the strongest item in the entire game and you will want it in your team's inventory. Try to rush it with your attackers and foragers if you can.
Gameplay Combat Tips
Maximize the Quick Swap Item Keys
There are hotkeys that you can set in game to quickly go over your items. This is essential when you have to get to an item quickly in your inventory, and using the scroll wheel on your mouse may take more time.
You can bind it to your preferred hotkeys, but the default buttons are the mouse scroll wheel, R, F, C, and X on your keyboard.
Utilize Crouch and Sprint
Crouching and sprinting are underrated character abilities that you can do in the game. Crouching can let you dodge spells while being in the same place and is significantly more effective if you have the Ray of Shrink.
As for sprinting, it doesn't take that much stamina, so you can essentially cover a large area before running out. Stamina is also gained back pretty quickly, so maximize your non-spell mechanics.
Avoid Voice-casting Multiple Times
Voice-casting is less effective the more times you say it in a short amount of time. Try to properly say the spell once to activate it rather than saying it multiple times.
Use Shortcut Keywords
Spells do not need to be fully said for them to activate. You can use singular words to activate some spells, such as Fire instead of Fireball and Missile instead of Magic Missile.
