This thread is for FF7 players who notice and love (not necessarily) weird little things in the game. Let us know what those things are!

    2 Anonymous04/07/2020 5:40 AMReport

Is this just for the remake or for the original too?

    3 Anonymous04/07/2020 5:41 AMReport

I don't think talking about the original is going to hurt anyone, so both, I guess.

    4 Anonymous04/07/2020 9:00 PMReport

If we're talking about the original, can I just gush about the sound effects? These were just as iconic as any other part of the game

    5 Anonymous04/07/2020 9:08 PMReport

Loves the detail they added to see materia slots kn equipments. Hated it because it doesnt change when you uograde the weapon so like, why bother square? Such a half assed job.

    6 Anonymous04/07/2020 9:49 PMReport

Even though it's not the world's greatest implementation of turn-based combat, I appreciate Square for putting in classic mode

    7 Anonymous04/07/2020 9:53 PMReport

Made me teary when I first heard the battle theme and how they inserted it. I literally freaked out and the memories of the original all surged in.

    8 Anonymous04/07/2020 10:11 PMReport

That moment was so lit. Havent played the game and only watched it from sneak videos but it still hyped me so much.

    9 Anonymous04/12/2020 10:43 PMReport

Can we take some time to appreciate the voice acting? Everyone sounds like exactly what I imagined them to sound in 1997

    10 Anonymous04/13/2020 11:17 PMReport

Yeah, the voice acting is really good. Never got tired of hearing them throughout my whole playthrough

    11 Anonymous04/15/2020 10:03 PMReport

Love what they did to everyone's hair in the remake. They managed to make them look kinda realistic while being faithful to the original designs

    12 Anonymous04/15/2020 10:09 PMReport

I appreciate that Square added in a squats minigame to the remake. Seems kinda silly to appreciate I know, but it's one of my favorite quirks about Zack

    13 Anonymous04/15/2020 10:11 PMReport

Kinda silly? No! All the mini games here are gold and they shouldnt remobe any of them. Squats is layfu.

    14 Anonymous04/15/2020 10:22 PMReport

I agree! All the minigames add to the game's charm and I love all of them.

    15 Anonymous04/15/2020 10:25 PMReport

The mini games are the true post game content. Nah JK but it comes pretty close.

Hollow is such a banger. Actually, the entire soundtrack is full of bangers. I normally listen to podcasts while playing games like these but I wanted to fully hear the music for this one

    17 Anonymous04/16/2020 1:37 AMReport

Now that you've mentioned it, yeah. Voice casting was on point.

    18 Anonymous04/16/2020 1:39 AMReport

Hahahaha I thought of something else

You joke, but I agree. I could play mini games forever. at least I WANt to

    21 Anonymous04/16/2020 1:45 AMReport

Haha I think it's just a matter of turning the original design into actual strands. Remember they DREW the characters before they made polygons out of them. They've been real, before the original was real.

    22 Anonymous04/16/2020 1:46 AMReport

I wanna do squats. I wanna be a soldier.

    23 Anonymous04/16/2020 1:47 AMReport

Thanks for the disclaimer, because I feel the same way. But I do appreciate it. I just can't with the real-time combat.

    24 Anonymous04/16/2020 1:48 AMReport

Yeah, the beauty of turn-based battle, is that you have more time to strategize.

    25 Anonymous04/16/2020 1:48 AMReport

Yeah, real-time just turns it into an action game, which is EXACTLY what the devs wanted. But no one really asked for that, right?

    26 Anonymous04/16/2020 1:49 AMReport

Nope, not me. But you know, I do love watching other people play it in real-time. As long as they're good.

    27 Anonymous04/16/2020 1:50 AMReport

Haha as long as they're good. Good one. I like the subtle changes to their costumes.

    28 Anonymous04/16/2020 1:50 AMReport

Which are actually just the details they wanted there all along.

    29 Anonymous04/16/2020 9:26 PMReport

Who doesnt want to be soldier? Wait I actually dont want to. Dont wanna get drugged with mako and get injected by an alien's cell.

    30 Anonymous04/16/2020 9:28 PMReport

Its a good balance IMO. Game is slow enough to warrant strategizing but fast enough to be an action-y game.

    31 Anonymous04/16/2020 9:36 PMReport

Same, I like how they updated their clothes for modern sensibilities. The older designs are very 90s

    32 Anonymous04/16/2020 9:52 PMReport

Apparently Hollow was written to be from Cloud's perspective, which makes it feel a lot more meaningful

    33 Anonymous04/17/2020 5:03 AMReport

Because it was the 90s and what is trendy now? 90s fashion. Fashion comes in waves yo.

    34 Anonymous04/20/2020 10:04 PMReport

I appreciate how they managed to get the band back together for the FF7 Remake. Not a lot of remakes or remasters get to have most of the original staff working on it again

    35 Anonymous04/20/2020 10:07 PMReport

I love how much more personality all the characters have. Especially Aerith! She's so sassy

    36 Anonymous04/20/2020 10:13 PMReport

I dont know. I feel like i'm looking at vanille 2.0 and i really dont like vanille btw.

    37 Anonymous04/20/2020 10:56 PMReport

Well that explains a lot I really liked Vanille lol

    38 Anonymous04/27/2020 11:22 PMReport

Just loved how they made the stair scene better. Although I miss how tifa calls barret a retard in the og.

    39 Anonymous04/28/2020 10:25 PMReport

Different appeals for the two games and I loved it both.
