I used a fight stick I had and found it much easier since I was less twitchy and my muscle memory works better using more of my hand and arm.
Beat it! Did everything everyone said. No volume and focused on Tifa. The key for me was to press the highlighted button as fast as possible, If you don't, its as bad as falling down.
Just find it a bit ridiculous to never fall at all, and lose to him by 2 points. When he falls at least once per round.
Finally got lucky and rng went in my favor i only got 40 but he got 38, so glad to never have to do that again (til my next playthrough of course)
RNGesus does not favour me, I get 42, he gets 43, I get 44 he gets 44, I get 38 he gets 40 and around and around it goes always trailing by 1 or 2 points.... 4 hours later and still no better off... What will help me is removing the disc and proceeding to set it on fire.
I've consistently been getting in the low 40s and every time i do he either ties or gets high 40s like 45 or 47, i don't know how you people say he gets like 41 or 42 cause i've never seen him get below 44
This challenge is utter BS you can't do them faster than he does it comes down to rng being kind enough to make him screw up more than once, i had multiple rounds where i'd get to 41 or 42 but he was always at 45 or 46 those rounds.
I literally tried to beat this for 2 hours. As others have said, dont focus on Jules, but what did it for me was paying attention to the vibration of the controller. It vibrates harder and at a quicker tempo after hitting a specific button. Once I put my focus primarily on it, keeping an eye out only for the fatigue button press, I got it on the second try. My guess is, once you get used to the criss-cross pattern, the harder vibration helps better gauge the acceleration for the next rotation.
The feel of relief when you beat this is the best thing in the world.
Really? Eveyone has strengths and weaknesses I guess? Still stuck on this while I cleared that race in 2 tries with 0 time.
So yeah. I turned off the music and voice tuned off so I could only hear the SFX. I maintained my focus on Tifa vs what score Jules had. By round 1 I gotten 23 and he gotten 18. He fell once and I kept my patients. By round two I manage to score 45 his while he got 42. He had only messed up twice, don't recall the first one, but second time when he got to 40. When he mess up I look at the timer then speed my pace up a little until he gets back on moving.
Took me absolutely ages. If helpful I ended up hanging a towel over left half the screen so I couldn't see Jules and also blocked the number at the bottom with a DVD case as even that was distracting me. That way I had no way of telling how well I was doing.
Well, it was less annoying than I thought, got on third try. Here are some tips: - As someone said before, don't look at the opponent score. You don't need that pressure. - Try to keep a constant rhythm, and every time you have to press the same button many times, go for a faster tempo. - Like someone else also said before, if you feel that the music gets in the way, mute the game. Following those steps I've got a 46x41 on him Good luck :) (the chocobo minigame from ffx is WAY worse than this)
You really gotta hand it to square. They can just find so many ways to destroy someone's sanity.
And u thought the chocobo race in ffx is bad.
These things helped me: - setting volume to zero (music doesn't match) - not looking at opponents score (avoid pressure) - Should at least get 20 in the 1st round - it's okay to be a bit slow when pressing the buttons as long as you don't make a mistake. Making a mistake = instant loss. Good luck!
Just got this annoying trophy this afternoon, after more than half an hour of retries. I made no mistakes whatsoever and he fell off the bar at 42, enabling me to get 43 just before the timer ran out. I soooo hope the next games in the project doesnt have any trophies that are utter BS like this one.
If anyone is still struggling on this, I found I was having a hard time adjusting to the pattern change in round 2 so I found you can just hit the ps button after round 1 finishes. Wait for 5 mins or however long you need to forget the last pattern and chill, then unpause and do round 2. Finally got it that way.
Trying for plat, this is definitely the most annoying challenge so far. Got an equal score to Jules but that's not a win 😭😭😭 Ipsate: got it but I think a bit of luck was involved as Jules scored lower on this round 🤷♀️
